Default What is with todays youth?

Well for those of you who don't know, I'm a garbo. Work in a rear loader I usually work in a small one, but sometimes work in the larges ones...

[rant]Well basically, within the last 6 months we have had at least 20 guys (mostly around 18 years old) that have the "That doesn't look hard, even I cold do that" attitude...Yet, when it comes to them working....A few hours into the job and they are starving for air and asking how much longer till the end of the shift.

In about June, one guy was in for roughly 1 hour, doing house hold garbage. And nearly fainted...We had to call in backup...
Last night I was meant to be on the city litterbin run...(basically the easiest run you can do, 8 hours of walking out the truck, to the bin, empty bin in truck, put bin back, walk back into truck. Well a bit harder than that, but not "hard") Well my shift got changed and the triver got a different runner, a first timer...well the shift started at 2pm, by 4pm "So, do we finish at like, 6 or something, I'm really tired"...The shift finishes at 10

But seriously, what is with all the lazy kids out there? I got **** from my dad because I didn't have a job while in school....But once I finished school I was working, earning 600 a week after TAX...Within a month of finishing school and working I had my first car...[/rant]

it's not just the "money" side of things, but it's their attitude towards everything/everyone...They just don't "care" about "anything"

thats not true at all. generalizing the youth of today like that, majority of my mates including myself are either doing an apprenticeship and setting up their lives, or have extremely well pay jobs for people who are 19 years old.

you just have to YELL at them to make em work crack the ****s at them and they will either work or tell ya to get ****ed, older blokes have been lazyer pricks than the youngens in my opinion,
the older ones stop for a smoke when its time to do hard yards and want to stand around and chat instead of working not to mention there she'l be right attidude and they come to work still half ****ed from the night before.

No, I never said it's "all", *looks back at original post*, nope never said that...I know there are select few, but it seems to be coming more of an issue that children once leaving school just go out drinking and partying...

now where getting somewhere...lol...Yes, exactly...I have NEVER asked for money from my parents, the biggest thing I have "asked" for was if I could go to a concert...And as long as I paid they didn't mind...But I haven't relied on anyone for help or anything in my life...

LOL Doesn't look hard sitting their on your bum all day until they get into it and realize there is more then sitting. It's always good to show someone who thinks you do it easy just how easy it really is. And they never come back.
