    Default mercedes heads up ???

well anyway the story goes like this my great grandfather has bought a new mercedes and has offered me his old one a 1966 230s automatic in mint mint condition im not getting it as somthing to ever sell but more to drive and restore any way i know its probably a long shot but anyone here know a thing or 2 about em so when i go check it out i know what to look out for ? i mean like rust leaks general problems and how much these sorta things will cost to be fixed i will be doing all the work myself but being 14 cash it tight
i tried to look up this sorta stuff but theres just nothing on the internet

    thanks in advance

Ever read "the dog & lemon guide" ryan? Don't wanna be a wet blanket, but (maintenance wise) if you can't afford a new merc, you definately can't afford an old one. But, if it is in double mint condition and it has a family history, it might only cost you one arm & a leg when something goes wrong

considering where it came from mate, it will always be worth repairing. 66 Mercs and the rest of them in that age still had cast heads. Your issue will be cost of parts and finding parts.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

buddy, dont be ****ing stupid, its not the type of car you molest like that.
if you were to restore this car to concourse condition it will be worth a fair bit when youre in your 30's-40's.

personnally i dont care how much its worth or how rare it is i will never sell it its more about the sentimental (sp?) value of the car and the only reason i suggested a 6 is so
1 i could drive it on my p's
2 it would need minimal work to fit

personally id leave it as is, there are plenty of other cars out there that you can pick up cheap to drive on your p's.
you might not have much money now but that will change trust me
