A KITTEN with two faces that meows out of both mouths at the same time has been born in Perth.

The kitten was delivered in a vet's surgery after its mother had complications with the birth.

The two-faced feline was one of three in a litter and appears to be doing well.

It hasn't got a name yet, but the owner is thinking of calling it Quasi Modo, according to local news website inmycommunity.com.au.

Veterinarian George Huber and nurse Louisa Burgess delivered the kitten.

Ms Burgess said that in her 12-year career she had never seen a two-faced cat.

“I have seen cats with two tails and extra legs, but not this,” she said.

“It has a full tummy and it survived the night so that is a good sign. It seems content, it meows and purrs."

lol, its a very unique kitten and it seserves the same love an owner would give to any other cat but it did look a bit freaky when i first opened the page i wonder if it will survive with 2 faces or not? if the esophagus is hooked up to both faces maybe it can eat from both sides, anyway it makes for a very wide eye sight!

of course it's going to look the same on either side, it's using the same chromosomes! it's just a genetical error, and definitely can happen. just like people who have 6 toes on one foot, or 3 arms etc. the list is endless. the cells duplicated more than they should have for this cat in the facial area.

i think it deserved to be treated fairly and given a chance. if the vet thinks it can eat properly then there is no reason to euthanize it. i would definitely have it as a pet
