Like any purchase, it depends what you need it for. Therefore when I set out to buy something I work out exactly what I want it to do, expect it to do, need it for etc. and then do my research.

its ok but think about what you need if you dont mind that its big and chunky.

i found when i used it at the shop it was slow. olympus call it a slr and it does not support full time manual and theres many other things its just a bling point and shoot but if its what you want its ok but not many MP's

and i think its about the same price as a canon g9 and the canon does not zoom as much but its half the size of the olympus with a 14mp and canon sensors

OLD post i know, but this post will be good for future reference.

When i was looking for a new camera i was refereed to this site Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ This site gives u the complete run down on all the Cameras on the Market today. It lists Specs and also all the Pros and Cons about each different Camera.

I now use a Canon 400D (or also known as a Canon Rebel XTi) Which is a DSLR. It is a 10mp with a shutter speed of 1/1600 second.

ive found u cant go wrong with olympus, ive had my other olympus for quite a while now and its served me pretty good. Just got my hands on a 10.1 pixel kodak, and i have to say that the olympus is much easier to use cos it has anti shake. Good for if u dont have steady hands, otherwise ur pic comes out blurry every time. So check to make sure if this one has it

Yep used to do Photography down at BMX tracks for people, printing them out and selling the pics. Also done the Photography for the Australian Titles last year at Lake Macquaire. So no not really an over kill, just wanted something that was really decent, was going to last and something i could enjoy. Certainly done all of that.
