what would u guys do if u went out side and there were some kids throwen eggs at your car and hittin it with poles. just curious about this one got a phone call from my aunty exact same thing i went down there saw the kids one threw an egg at my car missed i got out and startd chassing them down the street neighbour came out few houses down worked out wat was going on and decked all three of themfunny **** i was gonna kill em but yea he said nah just tie em up so u know lol we tied them up cops came said blah blah blah prob go to court over this etc..... cops took half an hour to get there. do u think if she called the cops when it was happening they could have got there quick enough or would have cared to get there quick enough.
cops actually did have a go at us for tieing them up and **** but meh what is a person meant to do lol i like the way u think troy haha
no i really thought it through, i even had a baseball mit and ball incase i got pulled over and asked why i had a metal bat.
but i didnt gt egged once, might have something to do with my dash light, looks like a copper light, every time they saw me they would go in other direction, but i saw a ford territory get egged about 20 times
hate to say it but you'd get in more trouble for tying them up than they would for hurling eggs so for your sake i hope it doesn't make the courts. They'd get off with a warning of some sort and you'd get an imprisonment charge or something (they aren't the right words for it....)
Everyone has a cam phone these days, try to get a photo of them - even if it means your tough neighbour holds them while you do it, let them go but then follow them to where they go and lead the police there. Gotta weigh up what it is worth sometimes, and unfortunately the outcome would be the same - your aunty will end up paying the costs of insurance excess and the vandals get a slap on the wrist. No point getting yourself in there for a charge as well.
Sucks but true.
yeah also true i guess im bigger than himhahaha lol damn kids to fast for me lol but yeah thats why i dont think were taking it to the courts i think we scared them enough as it is i think the neighbour said he knows one of the kids parents and that kid is gonna fix the damages though
and what ever u do just remember kids grow up and they might come back when there older and you are all in your 70s.

From: LAW ENFORCEMENT (POWERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES) ACT 2002 - SECT 100 Power of other persons to arrest without warrant
That's a NSW act, presumably similar applies in other states.100 Power of other persons to arrest without warrant
(cf Crimes Act 1900 , s 352)
(1) A person (other than a police officer) may, without a warrant, arrest a person if:
(a) the person is in the act of committing an offence under any Act or statutory instrument, or(2) A person who arrests another person under this section must, as soon as is reasonably practicable, take the person, and any property found on the person, before an authorised officer to be dealt with according to law.
(b) the person has just committed any such offence, or
(c) the person has committed a serious indictable offence for which the person has not been tried.
Yep.
This is Victoria's law.
Arrest
Arrest powers set out in the Crimes Act and certain other Acts are:
A private citizen can arrest a person – commonly known as citizen’s arrest.
Arrest without a warrant
You can be arrested without a warrant where a person is found committing an offence and it is believed, on reasonable grounds, that apprehension is necessary to ensure:
*The appearance of the offender before a court.
*The preservation of public order.
*Prevention of the continuation or repetition of the offence.
*Prevention of the commission of another crime.
*The safety or welfare of the public or of the offender.
Oh and in regard to how you restrain them:
231 Use of force in making an arrest
A police officer or other person who exercises a power to arrest another person may use such force as is reasonably necessary to make the arrest or to prevent the escape of the person after arrest.
ohhhhh sweeaat now i can break some ones legs and tell the cops it was citezens arest so they couldnt run away. i luv ausie laws thay make so much sence and are so much thought out.
yes mr plod i broke his legs so he couldnt run away and
yes my plod i broke his arms so he coulndt punch me and
yes mr plod i broke his back so he couldnt wigle wigle wigle away.
ohhh those are interesting extracts. not what i always thought it was. Might make it my mission to enforce a 'citizens arrest'.
on the odd occasion u hear of a 'citizens arrest'... some knob nicks a handbag.. some goodie holds them and waits for police... but u never hear the outcome of it,
So once u kno what is going on, id like to hear abt it. good job too, holding them. zippy ties??
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
i've always wanted to zip-tie some smart little **** for doing something naughty near my place. summer seems to bring more of them out.
cops used to use zippy ties back when i lived in morwell they cane coz they do em up really tight and they cut in and then when they cut them of they cut half ya hand off
how old were these punks, thats classic... u got them good... hope u hosed your car down as egg damages paint
