Well it's that time of the year, when everyone is setting up their Christmas lights. So what better way to enjoy Christmas than sharing out lights with one another. And what better person to start a thread like this
A few rules, most of which are obvious:
- NO put downs or bad comments about anyone or there lights, if you don't like lights so sit in the corner and shut your eyes
- NO stupid posts (ie. Showing us a picture of your bedroom light is a stupid post)
- ALL other various Christmas oriented lights are welcome, whether it be your house, a friends house, or even an object covered in Christmas decorations...
I guess I shall start of with 2 houses that are not far outside my court.
House 1 - An older couple, in their mid 50's live at this house, they have no children but have been collecting and decorating their house with Christmas decorations for the past 6 years, and adding to the collection each yeah.
Approx time to put up: 50 hours (over 4 weekends)
House 2 - Don't know much about the people that live here, but for the last how ever many years there decorations have always looked the same.
Approx time to put up: Less than a day
I'm yet to finish my mums, so there are no photos yet...

LOL, we sell small fibre optic trees at Dick Smith that run in 12 volts, just ignore the power adaptor and connect it to your vehicle's system! Actually, we have a gold tree as well that runs on bateries and is even smaller. Not fibre optis but LEDYour favoruite things LightningVP.
They're gold ones with LEDs in them and some of the LEDs are the colour chaning ones too. Or we've got a small christmas light set with a solar panel device that would sit in your back window fine and when it's shining the batteries charge and when it's dark the lights turn on
I dont think Broady has set them up yet, but i know Niddrie has a demonstration of both of these in the shops. Same as highpoint dick smith (inside the shopping centre). If you goto either of them, let whoever know that i said hi and you know me.
It's 360 Keilor Rd. You know where matthews ave is? (road that goes towards westfield) It's right near where the tram turns the corner. If you come up matthews ave (from westfield). Turn left at the end of the road following the tram, and about 100 metres down there's a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights, dick smith is right there! On the left.
Dont have any pictures here atm, however, we do a massive display at my parents. Last years set-up drew close to 37 amps.
We are buying her an LOR setup for xmas this year and will set it up with music etc for next xmas. Looking forward to it.

My wife loves this time of the year and goes overboard with lights as much as I will permit her. (and subject to finances, of course.) However, this year, I am helping a family friend operate a Christmas shop and the staff discount is generous, so the old lights from past years have all been replaced with LED's. No good photos yet but I'll try to get some that are not over-exposed and post them. Must admit, when fully illuminated, the place does look pretty good and as we are on a major suburban road, the passing traffic slows down to take a geek.
We have just started putting up lights, went and replaced all the fairy lights with leds this weekend. We have heaps of other lights and decos and cut outs and stuff. I'm not going to post up pics of our house because we usually go all out with the lights and I like my anonymity, it wouldnt be too hard for a member around here to recogise my house if I post photos and being a mod you get a few people ****ed off at you. We also decorate the inside of our house, we have a santa collection worth thousands lol, I might post some pics of that up when I get a chance.
