tax question: part year tax free threshold, can I claim?

Hello,
This was the first year that i made my taxes, and i am very confused because I arrived in july 2007, and where it says part year tax free threshold, I didnt put anything, and now my friend was telling me that I should have put 12 months.
I dont underestand.
could anybody help me with an answer.

This whole post has confused me, but suggest you go to a tax agent.
