Still mates with your best mate from school?

Just wondering how many people are best mates with the person/group they used to hang around with at school all the time...got me thinking after i just got in contact with a guy i was best mates with all through highschool and after hs we sorta went our seperate ways...but now after 4 years were catchin up for an ol fashion booze on

so yea what about everyone else?

I'm still good friends with at least 8 people i finished school with in '96. It's a good thing i guess, but we were a pretty tight knit group who got into a lot of trouble way back when.

lol thats awesome, i always thought our group would stay tight nit...but just didn't happen...but all 4 of us are catchin up in december...still see the other 3 every now and then but wouldn't class us as best of best mates anymore....catch up probably ever 6-12 months

my best mate and i went to the same school but werent really friends at school but caught up with each other probably 3 years after we left school and have been best mates now for 10 years

9 years on from high school and I probably speak to only 4 or 5 of my good mates from school, we all sorta went our own way. But guys I would consider my best mates now, I never really hung out with in school, only knew them as friends of friends.

Alot of my close mates in school moved overseas for 2 or 3 years once we finished school, so we sorta lost contact for a while. Still love catching up for a beer, but I don't really go out of my way to try and organise times to catch up.

You don't really find too many groups of friends still hanging out 10 years on. People change too much from who they were in high school IMO. Some of the most annoying people I knew in school are top blokes now, and likewise some blokes I got along with really well back then are absolute tools that I can't stand now.

about 2weeks ago was at a TAB in carrum downs, and this guuy walked past me and push me aside, at first i was like WTF. then relised i was at primary school with this guy, had been mates from prep til about yr 10 then lost contact for a few years. was good to see him again, and on sunday just gone, i saw him at the carwash. Was bloody good to catch up n yap about old times n ****.

Most of my old school friends, have all moved towards city, although some still live locally, but dont see much of them due to different hours of work.

been about 3 years since i left school, lost contact with my mates for about 10 months (cos of bloody work) then out of the blue ran into them and it was like old times. Drinking and carrying on.
Still like that today, one has a kid, i'm getting married but we can all still carry on the way we did when we were 16. Only now we go out LEGALLY.

I was waiting for that one. I don't see the harm in it, she's happy, i'm happy, what's he got to complain about? We should be closer as friends really, i spend a lot more time with his family now.

Yehhh still mates with the majority of them and see most every now and again... No one really leaves newcastle... its a fish bowl... One of my good mates who i havent seen in a long ass time is in jail after being caught with over 100 ecstasy pills at BDO 08.

I still try to keep in touch with my friends from highschool (3 years ago) and we still catch up whenever we are all in our home town even though most of them went to Adelaide and I'm in Melbourne. Don't see them as often as I would like too though

i got a very close group of friends from school(5 years ago) even made friends with people that went to the same school that i never really spoken to before after we left. and there is 4 of us that booked a one way ticket to london next year, so we are goingto be stuck together for a long time to come

i had a mate since primary school grade 4 up until recently 12 years he tried sleeping with my gf (ex now), cant be friends with someone i dont trust simple as that, meet my mate through the cfa realy good mates ever since 3 years

That's a long time ago.. My best friend was hit by a car. Lousy ****s drove off and left him for dead.
Luckily he survived but he lost memory's most functions. His family and him moved away. I past him in a shopping centre about 2 years ago. The poor bugger can't remember school the accident almost nothing from before the accident.
