Haha people will think this is hardcore porn man. Haha well i would have to say the only thing better then hardcore porn is aussie hardcore music woooo. Break even, 50 lions. Butcher has a new project too called eternal lord. Not too bad stuff there. If you want some massive bass breakdowns get a cd called before the devil by black my heart. From track one your sub will get a workout. Iv got my system tuned perfect for this sort of stuff now. Headunit runs through a vocal eq and i send all the bass to my sub. Works well. Keep this thread alive!!

Ah the new wave of metal bands coming through... I really fear for the future of this genre of music.

Parkway drive are one of the worst bands I've ever heard. If you like "hardcore" as you put it, when alot of the bands are nu metal or metalcore, I'd look into the swedish death metal genre. Quite a few good bands with decent musicians, look into the likes of older Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Mors Principium Est... Then obvious ones like Killswitch Engage or Arch Enemy.

If you like metal, I'd suggest going to something like Soundwave festival over Big Day Out to get exposure to some decent metal bands live. Bands include NIN, lamb of god, dillinger escape plan, in flames, underoath, poison the well, devil driver (even though they suck some serious kahunas), funeral for a friend, evergreen terrace etc etc

you say pwd are bad but you mention funeral for a friend and underoath?

parkway drive are on top their game dude.

they keep getting better, have you heard the horizons album?

    they shred that shiit!

they dont suck dude, though its your opinion.

least they arent a fashion band and attention whores, they are cool down to earth aussies.

theres too many catagories of music these days.. im really after people who dont just listen to the lollipop music on the radio. and are into anything heavy.

shouldve changed the title i guess lol

I don't listen to any of those bands that you mentioned, I merely mentioned the lineup for Soundwave (NIN, In Flames, Poison the Well and Lamb of god are the bands there I listen to).

Parkway Drive remind me alot of Segression, tried to sound like some mainstream heavy american stuff, but always came a long way short of their american counterparts.

I'm more an old school thrash, power metal, NWOBHM fan. Most new stuff really doesn't appeal to me, they all sound so similar.

But I absolutely hate Slipknot and Pantera, mainstream garbage, so our tastes are always gonna be different :P

I'm not really a fan of anything beyond clayman (2000), but their last 3 albums (reroute to remain, soundtrack to your escape, come clarity) may appeal to your tastes based on the bands you've said you liked. Colony, Whoracle, Clayman and The Jester Race are their best albums to look into though IMO.

If you do like older in flames stuff look into Dark Tranquillity as well, Damage Done and Character are two albums that appeal to most people who don't mind in flames.
