So my friends phone got stolen/lost (not sure which), and I got a message from his phone telling me "if my mate wants his phone back its gonna cost him 250 bucks".

the bloke has even changed his voicemail to his own name (or a name, might not be his own).

anyways...suggestions on what we should do (if anything)?

can cops do anything?

thinking of getting a bunch of blokes together, meeting up to for the swap and either scaring them or if necessary getting physical.

suggestions please!

Take it to the cops from the extortion point of view, especially if you still have the message on your phone. Agree with SOME of the others, don't pull the gun or punch up sh*t as you will probably come out worse.

Get the phone blocked, or traced by the provider if you have the IMEI code AND LEAVE IT AT THAT!! Just get another phone.
