For the last few hours the guy across the road was being held back by his mates while he was yelling out "I'm gonna kill that ****", "He's ****ing dead", and other things along this line, (we (me and my sister) assume he is highly ****ed on drugs), although, every now and then he would break free bolt down the street, not sure where too or who he wanted to kill, but the friends would bolt after him and drag him back to the house...and went on like this for a few hours....
As well as a lot of objects (pot plats, other things around his lawn, stuff we could hear breaking inside his house at various times)
EVENTUALLY the police, scratch that, one male police officer in a sedan turned up...Who was HIGHLY absed by this guy when he got there (he was inside, so it was only verbal abuse) he was talking amongst the few people outside that were just friends, or people holding him, when all of a sudden the dude bolts out the front door and tries to assault the cop.
He didn't hit the cop as he **** himself and the cop ran half way down the street away from the guy. he talked into the wireless CB (possibly for backup), the friends managed to throw the guy back inside, and the cop went and stood near his car, then about 2mins later you could hear screeching coming around the corner, then a divy pulled up behind the other cop, male and female officer got out the car, chatted to the other guy, then walked to the front door, stood there for about 5 mins while the guy inside was ranting and raving inside his house (with both doors shut), the door opened and some other guy was there, talked to the cops for a bit, then all 3 of them left...
Leaving the drunken abusive guy at his house...
What are your thoughts on why he wasn't arrested or anything?

hmm thats werid he can deff get arrested for that wonder why they didnt
knock on the door and ask him what he said?
We have a nutter over the road who comes out on a Thursday night and goes sick at anyone and no one, if that makes sense.
He just stands in his front garden swearing abuse at people walking past, threatening to beat them to a pulp if they dare take him on, if no one is in eye sight, he just continues to spew out abuse randomly. One night some Sudanese were playing tennis on the court between my place and his, and he was being very very racially abusive.
Everyone now and then one of the neighbours call the police as you get fed up of hearing the language. They turn up after a while, talk to him and leave. He comes back out again 20 mins later. They have never taken him away.
his disturben the peace and what not u can deff get arrested btw he was acting
I read it, but you also said that he didn't actually hit him and ****ed himself and ran down the road, it wasn't clear who ran and what the guy actually did that you're called attempted assault.
Anyway, now that's clearYeah NFI why he didn't get put in the back of the paddy, but if you really want to know, call your local cop shop and ask them why they wouldn't have arrested the guy!? Worst that can happen is they don't tell you.
How exactly are they "corrupt"?

I'm sure the officer was more focused on getting back up there so the bloke didn't hurt him, or his mates or himself. The open alcohol container was the least of his worries at that point.
People get busted for drinking in public generally when they are:
A) Walking down the street drinking etc, and the police are patrolling and see them.
or
B) When a complaint has been made about (eg) kids drinking in a park / making noise etc.
When they have bigger problems at hand with one person, the minor things aren't really that big of a deal.
For instance, they bust a murderer, the murderer gets taken down by police in a struggle and spits on the ground whilst he is being held face down and cuffed. They aren't exactly going to fine him for spitting are they? Because they don't, doesn't mean they are corrupt.
Coppers who, for instance, work on the drug squad, make a big drug bust, and take a sneaky share of the drugs seized for personal gain, are corrupt, police who take bribes to let criminals off the hook, are corrupt, police who break the law for personal gain etc in general whilst they are in the force, are corrupt coppers.
ok, maybe i should say "The law bull****?"
