Amateur Circuit Racing

Gday all,
a mate of mine recently brang up the idea of doing circuit racing and i was just wanting to know what is involved, are there any competitions that anyone knows of / is involved in? i'm talking about with inexperienced / amateur drivers in low performanced cars eg: 173/202 VKs or whatnot. Does anything even exist? is there an age limit or any specific requirements? we're both 18, wanting to know of any weekend races that we can take part in / enter with a low budget car? (legally of course)

Try contacting QLD Raceway out in willowbank, they have open track days *i think*, though you may need to get a CAMS licence to race on certain days/in events. Give them a ring, or have a look around on here: Queensland Raceways - Home might answer a question or two if you're lucky

In SA we have dirt circuit racing ( DIRT CIRCUIT OF SA (Powered by Invision Power Board) ). In other states I think it's called Speedway and ya just go round in circles.

We have a few young lads racing, one's about 10!

nice! i wonder if they got any of that in Qld, i had a look on youtube, looks insane, would love to race in one of those events

Come east and we invented this black stuff called bitumen a few years ago. Much more civilized than the dirt roundy roundies

I'd prefer bitumen too but beggars can't be choosers. Dirt Circuit racing is around a track, Speedway is around in circles.....I'm pretty sure it is anyways.
