hey guys,
just bought the Dynolicious program for my ipod, to see if its any good. ive heard good things
in order to get an accurate HP figure, it wants an estimation of powertrain loss, the manual says 20% is about right for most cars, but has anyone got an idea of what a commodore loses through the powertrain?
i drive a VS V8 statesman, stock
cheers
Trent
AFAIK average losses are 25% through manual, 30% through auto. Which transmission is your car?
would u be able to explain the program what is it how do is work lol sorry i dunno about the loss bit
from what i've read it uses the motion type detector thingy in an ipod TOUCH or iphone, just like a gtech does.
GTech has three separate accelerometers in it. I'm not sure about iPods/iPhones etc, from what I've heard they have an increasingly inaccurate margin of error. The higher the figures get, the further out they go.
Purely Heresy though![]()
it uses the accelerometers in the ipod touch/iphone to detect and calculate HP, and 1/4 mile times, things like that. the powertrain loss is because it calculates engine HP from its measured wheel HP.
as for accuracy, i cant see its always going to be spot on, any other form of measurement tool costs a lot more than the $15 i spent on this. i watched a few videos and they compared the Gtech and found in that particular occasion that it wasnt anywhere near as good as this program. im sure theres mixed results for everyone
but for a few dollars its a bit of fun eh.
oh and its an auto, VS stato
Yeah, 25-30% for the 4L60E sounds about right.
sweet, thanks mate. ill see what it comes up with when i get a chance
