Black Duck Valley - CLOSED!!!

Hi All,

For those of you who live in S.E. QLD and ride dirt bikes, at one point or another you may have visited and ridin at Black Duck Valley (Welcome to Black Duck Valley - BDV - Camp, ride, 4WD & explore). Its a Motorbike and 4wd recreational park, a weekend hang out for hundreds of mad keen dirt bike riders every weekend. Its located about 2 hours drive west of Brisbane. Anyway, to cut a long story short, it is being permanently closed as the QLD government will NOT renew their insurance policy. This decision by the QLD government will dissapoint many QLD dirt bike riders. Also, in my opinion, it will force all those riders to seek illegal places to ride in the greater Brisbane area, as there are no other parks simliar to Black Duck Valley within 3 hours drive of Brisbane.

So, my reason for writing is to advertise the link below that's petitioning the QLD government to renew Black Duck Valley insurance and hence allow them to continue operations. Even if your not a dirt bike rider, but know someone who is, who maybe interested in signing the petition, please pass the link on.

they have done the same thing in SA they closed down Port Gawler which means most of the biking population goes elsewhere mainly torrens island.

Yeah, this is really bad news here in S.E. QLD for dirt bikers. Was also an awesome for families to ride bikes together. It's really, really is going to **** off heaps of people. Not sure if you follow much QLD politics, but Labour in QLD, during there recent reign have stuffed Education, Health, Roads, and Water. All in all, pretty dam hopeless on the major things that matter, then this park closure. UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!

what the fack that sucks bad i would much rather go to a supervised place with medics ect nearby than ride in bush blocks with no one around used to go there all the time with one of my mates

i hate the government when they do stuff like this, they were discussing making the local waterways here a marine reserve (no fishing) and my dads has been fishing here for over 40 years, so he said if they do he expects the government to reimburse him for his boat, 40 years of fishing gear, boating license fees etc etc...

all they are doing is closing it so the people are forced to ride illegally so the cops can go fine them, revenue raising. maybe all the bikers should meet on the front of parliment house and use that as a bike park.

Excellent, i just got my yz250 going, and a group of us were planning on heading there in january. Once again, thankyou oh-mighty government...
Looks like it's back to dirt roads again.

I dont live in queensland but are a dirt bike rider. That sucks what they are doing up there.

Have a few mates that live in queensland and passed on the info to them.

all i can suggest is at the next election dont give that goverment your vote. I also like the idea of turning parliment house into a motocross track.

AAAARRRRGHGGGHHHH that bloody suck ass!!! i just got my cr250 back from my cousin on saturday and the first thing i was saying t my mates is...Black Duck straight up after christmas

they've shut down everything in brissy (fitzgibbon, bridge to nowhere, clear mountain) now blackduck....not happy!

that was the best retreat for a good weekend of fun and excitement

Seems to be the norm, even mx tracks are being shut down because people are building around tracks and then complaining about noise....why the **** build there in the first place? Governments are causing the obesity problem in Australia single handedly.

Being in nsw I wouldn't use the track, not at the time being anyway but my kids are getting into the sport and maybe would have had the chance to use this track in the future. Poor form by the Qld govt. I just signed the petition.

I ride at a place near canberra called smiths road and they are planning to close that too. Heaps of people ride there every week.

just signed it, its now up 2 1229 since ive done it, dont take long to grow.

Insurance for that place wouldnt be cheap, i can recall 4 ambo's comin out one day not too far apart.

Heaps of fun there tho, just gotta watch the other crazy buggars

lol my mate was air lifted outta there when he went to hit the 100ft, came round the bend and almost tore his foot off on a stump that was sticking out, he was alright after a few days in hospital..lol all he kept saying was im a bloody twit i knew that was there lol..

crazy buggers are those little kids that fang around on their 60's and 80's and keep up with most of the ppl on 125's lol actually sat and watched one little tucker just fly past everyone on the second track beside the flat track (back end of BD).

hope it doesn't go...i just got my bike back

It gets pretty crazy out there, especially round holidays n shiz when everyone out fangin round htere new bikes.

One day there was sum teenager on a decent thumper, makes just under 1/2 the 100ft, as he comin down the landing a guy on a crf450 lands on him, they both got sooo messed up, guy on the 450 tried outtin his leg out, kinda hit the kid, n broke his femur, compound bone hangin out everywhere, took 45min for ambo as there had already been couple acco's jsut b4 hand
