work christmas partys
in about 2 hours im heading off for my christmas party at work. haven bbq and i have heard they are buyen about 40 cartons of beer to go round. being only 40 people attending thats a generous amount of beer lol. after that we are hitting the town. just wondering what others have done if they are just about to have it or have already done it.

Any employer putting on 40 slabs for 40 people is stupid. Their own personal risk is too high these days if anything happens. We have our bbq on Tuesday. Nice and spicey chineese/Russian bbq lamb

I got a chrissy party tonight in at the kirribilli hotel for one of the companies I contract for. Then will be heading out into the rocks with my other work colleagues later in the night.
3rd christmas party for work this year. I love being a contractor lol. Just sucks that I can't drink a whole lot at the moment, just started getting into training again.

I head out tomorrow.... Christmas Party is in our head office in Dublin. Flying over for the party Sunday night. Flying back Monday, arrive early Wednesday morning. Should be good.

got my work breakup tonight. buffet at the sheraton on the waterfront geelong for anyone that knows the joint. should be good. no drinks supplied which is a bit weak of my boss. should be a bit of fun though.

my works been gradually increasing the crappiness quotient of the chrissy party for a few years now, used to be a venue booked and drinks and food supplied (not open bar tho) now it's first softy free and nibbly ****.
they reckon it's because of low attendance, which may be true but that's caused by the crappiness of it.
**** cost cutting.
i used to work in a place where there was no christmas party for the workers. only had one for the suppervisers and the rest of the management. so we just started up our own thing and met at a pub had a few drinks and something to eat then hit the town after that.

Had my work party a couple of weeks back.
It was my 18th all week lol, then my mates 18th the night before the work party, so I was feeling pretty seedy.
Since its only a small business, we went out to lunch, then went to the gold course, hired buggies, clubs, and bought alot of grog..... AWESOME FUN lol.

our work function was cancelled - apparently due to global economy - does wonders for morale and spirit - it feels like working in a cemetery.

Mines today, except I'm at home with some kind of mystery illness, fainting and dizzy spells, sweats and a massive headache that gets worse when I move my eye.
Missing out on free beers/rums/bourbons/pizzas/prawns and burgers. For probably about 100 people. Would have started about an hour ago, goes until 5. I remember last year I won about 10 games of pool in a row before retiring as champ.
