Default Keep your Car locked in the driveway...

Xmas night had a few people over visiting...had all the cars mostly parked in the driveway/yard none were on the road..Came outside to see some friends off & their car had both front doors popped open & the centre console & glovebox had been searched through.

Been gone through looking for coins or whatnot obviously, only has a stock stereo so it was still there.Nothing was stolen.

Their car was reasonably close to the house aswell so they didnt worry about locking the doors.

I have a camera/s set up on my front yard but didnt have have the monitor switched on thinking no ones ripping of cars on xmas night.

Wont be switching the monitor off anymore.

How much of a Dero do you have to be,to be going through peoples cars on xmas night.

Christmas night would be one of the main nights to have the camera on.

Any night like Christmas/ Birthdays/ Easter/ Parties and what not, more stuff laying around, more chances to score some goods.

Good to know nothing was taken, but yeah definitely a good warning to always be safe.

I lock my car behind a locked rollerdoor i'm that paranoid.

Only way to my car is through the house, or jumping the back fence (and fighting off the neighbours dog haha)

I saw some kids out yesterday, just walked through a carpark, saw there was no cars, then walked back. so they were obviously looking for a car to break into.

few years back a friends friend had his car turned over at new years. It was a **** heap run about only but to think people would go that low and turn over a car they must be bored to death idiots.

Yeah I've heard bad things about Solex, generally if they're installed correctly they're harder to get into. And from what I've heard most of the times when they're opened is because they haven't been put in properly.

But count me out, they're big and ugly.

Solex locks don't hate it so you can't break into the car, the make it so any VK/L key can't open your doors.

I've used Solex locks before, theyre a good deterent to kids or car theft amatures but in reality theyre so much easier to get past then factory locks on most Commodores.

the only true deterent to having someone break into or steal your car is a usually about 6 foot 5 and holding a baseball bat.

Then your rims are no safer from thieves, but your car is alot more dangerous to drive. Lock nuts are only supposed to be used on one stud because you cannot get them as tight as a regular nut therefore they are inherently weaker.

It takes any trained thief no longer than a few seconds to get a lock nut off.

Oh no ****?? i totally didn't know that.. when i was gonna put my 18's back on i figured id do exactly that, not gonna bother now.

Why cant you get them on as tight? I thought it was just a nut with a different head pattern and a key went over that and it had a regular hex style config... are they torque rated or something?

    aZk.

    Funny stuff mate.

All 5 foot of my mum would be a great deterrant, she would spot you and then try and convert you.
