Question keep the VS Calais or get a munro?

Been in a bit of a dilemma, I like the VZ munro and they have come down in price a fair bit now ect, I have been thinking of getting one and slowly modding it and the missus seems to like them a fair bit lol, however i also love my VS Calais and would love to make it a custom car ect so i spose i was just after some advice/opinions as to what others think ect, cheers

dont worry about the monaro, keep the vs and all that extra money just put it into the charger and you will have a much nicer car

Well that's probably the first time I would say I've heard a statement like that. A VS ecotec with a charger is a much nicer car than a VZ Monaro? I don't think so.

As for the OP, it depends on what you're looking for... Can you justify pumping 20k+ into a VS (money that you'll never get back) to give it a showroom paintjob and mechanical work.

Personally if I got offered a stock VZ monaro, or a heavily worked VS of the same value put into it, I'd take the monaro every time without even thinking about it. Better engine, better handling ten fold, much nicer looking stock for stock, more tuning potential, better resale value and it's a hell of alot newer.

I'm kinda surprised that even a question could come into one's head. The answer is obvious for me.

He means the Charger as in the Chrysler Charger he owns.

Note to self: I must read signatures as well as posts now lol.

Fair enough call. I'd still prefer the monaro. I definitely wouldn't spend any money on the VS though.

Thanks fellas for all the comments
I have thought about keeping the VS and throwing money @ the charger but the vs is starting to look a little tired now and im contemplating whether to spend the money on it to do it up real nice or if its just worth getting the munro and be done with it! The charger is going to be nice when its finished but i am not in a major rush with it as its only going to be a weekend car and most of the work on the charger is done by myself alone ect so im more just focusing on the daily hack side of things @ the moment!

I had thought about getting a VX Clubby but the wife was bent on getting the munro, personally i think the munro is a better pick over the clubby though, but they are still nice cars!

The vx clubby for $17k in the classifieds here is a good buy!.

Personally a munro is just a 2 door commo to me, i dont see anything special about then, the HSV munros is the only munros they should have released to keep some sort of specialness (so not a word) to them.

But hey you always got to keep the wife happy

2 be honest i had considered getting the munro and turning it into a GTO or GTS replica but either way as long as the missus is happy i wont complain

That's because the people that write for those magazines failed english at school and never learnt to use a spell checker. Nearly every article in SC has basic spelling mistakes all the way through it.

Is is really worth losing money with the depreciation on the Monaro?
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

Monaro all the way dude. I traded in my beloved VN in on a '03 CV8R and would never look back.

As for colour choice, Turismo grows on me, Silver Monaro's are hot, Black one's are hot, the Gold looks hot. Hell, doesn't matter what colour they are, they're just hot.
Fella at work is asking low $20k for a series 1 auto.

And don't forget dude, Happy Wife, Happy Life. Kiss your VS goodbye and get a Monaro.
