Default New Years Eve - what have you got planned?

Just wondering what you guys are all doing for NYE.

I'm heading out on the drink tonight lol, hopefully i'll pick up a root and won't have any trouble with bouncers/pigs/other members of authority.

Sleeping. Dr's orders to stay off the booze and what not - couldn't be bothered dealing with crowds sober.

I left work at 3pm, loaded an esky with ice and grog, picked up some mates and drove south for 5 hours.

Got in at 8pm, chucked round 1 of the grog into a 1.25 litre coke bottle and headed down the beach to suss it out.

Come back for round 1.5 (a can or 2 at home), re-filled the coke bottle, and headed back out til it was 2009.

Sometimes its the simplest things that you enjoy more

All we had was a bottle of booze between us, a key to get back in, and a beach. Ended up joining in with a group that had come across from Canberra for the night. they had a generator running to power some bright neon lights on the beach, their fridge which was massively overstocked, and an awesome Ipod sound system setup.

They ended up "taking requests" for songs we liked, before i knew it we counted down the new year, and I wasnt going to say no to the offer of an icy cold beer from their stock as we battled to stand up.

Watched the fireworks over the water while havin a drink with new mates and singing Thunderstruck then gradually drank away the early hours of the morning as fireworks kept going off every 10/15 mins to keep us awake. Good thing about the beach is you only need to walk 3 meters to pee once youve broken the seal, and if you fall its a soft landing, both of which I did several times

The accomodation wasnt the best but it did the job and i was smashed anyway, I slept on top of a blow up mattress which was covered in sand, which deflated as the morning went on, and a sleeping bag on the garage floor. At least it was warm, i was shocked how cold it was outside when i crawled out at 4am for a pee. Must've got to about 10 degrees

Ended up sleeping upstairs in a proper bed from about 8am before leaving at 3pm. 6 hours later this time due to some slow traffic and some extra drop offs, somehow I made it home

Has been a busy 24 hours but definately a good NYE, and for the first time ever I didnt acctually see any of the Sydney NYE fireworks. Havent switched on a TV since 8am yesterday. Normally Ive seen them, or part of them, on a TV but not this year!!!!

I had been invited to a you beaut party, had also been invited to go into the city for the night, but I know i made the right decision with a beach party with mates and an endless supply of free grog ... and I started the new year doin my 2 favourite things, drinking, then once I slept that off, driving !!!!
