Oh, and for the record, i don't race. I wouldn't be egged on to race said unmarked car, but i think its bull**** if i was to be pulled over and defected 'in an officers opinion' because wouldn't race them.

Who cares what hours they are open, are you saying they should open 24/7 burnout pads lol? Seriously, having tracks makes NO DIFFERENCE. The deadheads who continually break the law will keep breaking the law regardless.

No it becomes a police officers car, they cannot do anything in it such as pursue a vehicle at high speed etc.

Yes, or open more than the 4 or so hours on a wed or sat night would be good. I never said it will stop the morons, only a tree will stop them, but it will give the rest of us somewhere to go legally.

And no, i never said they can get into a high speed pursuit..........

    Sorry, late reply!

I see your point, you're saying if the cops didn't do it they would do it eventually anyway with the next hoon they meet, so may as well get them first right?

    Have you seen Minority Report?

If the hoon rolls up to the police and revs HIS engine to signal a race, then the cop plays along and catches him that's fair game for sure, but the police shouldn't be throwing the first punch. Where would you draw the line? Would it be Ok for undercover police to go out Friday night and call people on the street ****wits to see if they will punch on, then arrest them for assault?

The argument i can see coming up against that is, they already pay their taxes. They pay for teenage mums to go out and buy plasma TVs, they pay for medical services for people who repeatedly do themselves harm. They pay for a lot of things that I'm sure they would rather not.

Their taxes go to things that a lot of people wouldn't want, like the welfare payments for teen mums for example. Why should their money be going to bludging women, no, girls, who can't be bothered getting a job and choose to mooch off society instead? At least if it went into building things like a track or motorplex, the benefits are spread over everybody who goes there, plus it would provide jobs needed to operate the place.

That's not to say that all other projects should be dropped in favour of a track, just putting forward the idea that rather than paying again, the benefits/downfalls of a tax-funded track could be considered also.

I live within an hours drive from Willowbank Raceway, so why would I race on the street? Not only is it illegal and dangerous, it would be a hell of a lot more costly if I were caught. I can see the mentality of those who have nowhere to race though, you'd have to seriously want somewhere to race to do it on the road though. Or just be a complete spanner, either way.

I can't believe how stupid people are being with this. If i Pull up beside someone and rev my car and they think im racing, how is it any different to police doing it? You seem to think the fact that police do it means the person will magically race.

Your comparing apples to oranges, revving a car beside someone is not a sign to race...if you think it is you deserve to lose your car to unmarked police. The simple fix is DO NOT RACE ANYONE. How ****ing hard is it to comprehend?

Oh we want somewhere to race alright. I don't race on the street, but it seems like its been years with all this hype of a track opening up. They'd make a killing if they do open one here. Theres so many purpose built drag cars sitting in sheds unused (or currently being towed interstate just to get themselves a slip).

Strange logic indeed. Since there are many alleged misuses of public taxes then that justifies another one?

So jobs created building the tracks and running them......and who do you think will be paying for these jobs? Just the people that want to use the track? They have already put their hands down when it has come to paying , they want the rest of the population to pay for their indulgence.

What you are asking is for a huge investment in public money to benefit only a very small % of the population in an activity with perhaps only one positive going for it and a huge list of negatives.

Not so much. More toward the point of, those benefit lazy people who can't be bothered getting a job. This benefits everybody who wants somewhere to race and do burnouts. Welfare for people like that has no benefit to anybody but themselves, a motorplex benefits quite a few people.

By your logic, hospitals and the police force should both be paid for privately. Their jobs are paid by taxes, what's the difference between them and track operators? Both are services to the community. Or have you put your hand down to paying and want to indulge off everyone else's money?

What about playgrounds for kids? They are only a small percentage of the population, but they get built. If it's placed well, a public track would get a hell of a lot more use than things like that. You never know how popular it will be until it's open, but there are a lot of car enthusiasts out there with no track to race at.

Bad example. It costs a hell of a lot less to build a few swings on a piece of council land it does to build a raceway. Everyone thinks 'lay down some concrete and we'll be right'. No one thinks of who is going to pay for the marshalls, who's paying for the lights, who's paying for the stands, what about security, about insurance costs? Is the $20 admission price of 100 people every fortnight going to cover that?
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

It wasn't a scale example of comparable price, it was an example of a council project that only benefits a small group. A track would get much more use than a playground. Less junkies on the track too I'd hope

would love to see this happen with two unmarked police cars, then they would both try to pull each other over.

Seeing as people have been throwing unrelaistic examples with banks, guns etc. How about this one?

Is it wrong that the AFP setup dummy sites to catch online pedo's?

lol at that pic, mate if you think thats an undercover car then your completly wrong. that picture was taken from jaki (MIZLS1's) myspace. i was with her that day.

VK was doing skids in the city. cops pulled him over at eastern beach. owner blew that far over the limit they put him in the back of the divvy van. traffic was backing up so the other cop jumped in and parked it in a car spot. end of story.
