he had it coming.... but still.... you gotta feel for the guy.
ouch. That would just tear you apart.
aZk.
No sympathy here.
A car enthusiast does not risk such action, and he did'nt learn the first time.
While i feel for the guy, he knew the laws, had been given a chance and still broke them. The laws may be crap, but at the end of the day we have to abide by them and face the penalties.

Geezus.... 7th of May 2008.... thought this story sounded familiar.
Hot Lap Motorsport
I'm amazed he gave it up just like that, I would have burnt it. Still as gay as the laws are he should have been doing is his skidz in a EA
suck **** to that fool

Hardly making an example of him... Everyone knows the hooning laws, he broke them once, got a warning, 2nd strike and you lose your car.
While I feel sorry for the bloke losing a car worth so much compared to another moron in a VL who is out of pocket $1k, he knew the risks. If I got caught one time, there is no chance in hell I'd be stupid enough to do it again, let alone in a car worth so much.
Maybe he should've taken up drink driving. The he could rack up 11 offences and still be driving that car!

I just hope the car is auctioned, rather than crushed.

I suppose it makes sense when you can fine someone $200,000 for turning the tyres, as opposed to nothing when you catch a real crook.
I am also surprised he gave up the car that easy - they'd be prying the keys to my wreck out of my cold dead hands.
If **** with the bull... you get the horns..
In saying that I still think full confiscation of cars is a bit too much.. just take their licence off them for 5-10yrs and make them go through the licensing system from the start again.. eg L's.
isnt it 3 strikes for permanent seizure of a car? guess he mustve done another hoon related offence to lose the car.
Just out of interest, My father has a picture he took that's just a general black and white landscape of the harbour. But if you look closely down in the carpark near the grain silos is a HK-HG GTS Monaro ripping the most impressive spin turn/burnout with smoke peeling off the tyres. I'm sure there was a HO just up the road trying to go one better. You can't even do that these days without ending in trouble, back then it was just turning around :|. But that's what those cars were all about and that's how they should be driven, they were never intended to live a climate controlled shed/bank
Oh for **** sakes who hasn't done a burnout on a public rd
Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone, ring a bell anyone? Talk about the self righteousness in this thread.
I'd like to touch on the phenomenon known as, 'calling the kettle black'. 'When is the auction', they ask. When was the article posted I ask?![]()
