A woman in Sydney has just appeared before Manly Local Court and been disqualified from driving until the year 3000.
Her latest offence, for driving whilst disqualified, was her fourth for the same offence. She was fined $1,000 and had ONE YEAR added to her previous sentence (previously disqualified till 2999).
This old bitch obviously has no respect for the law and nothing will stop her from picking up the keys and heading off into the sunset (or someone's car) again. So, what is an appropriate penalty for such an aged recalcitrant?
My view is that if she has done this three times previously and still was prepared to drive whilst disqualified again, she should be chucked into jail, regardless of her age. She has no concern for public safety and obviously thinks only of herself.
At least her stay in the can wouldn't cost the community very much.
Thanks Grennan. I obviously missed the earlier post. But what do others think would have been an appropriate penalty?
