Hey to anyone reading this..
Just asking around to see if there is any of you fellow commodore lovers that either know something or some one, about getting a start in the Offshore Oil Industry, im currently a fully qualified Plant Mechanic - Mobile Plant, Earthmoving, Agricultural. And hoping to get in on a trade level, either conversion course or Traineeship..
Ive been going through google like there is no tomorrow, but only to find International sites, where as I suppose I think i'd like to work off Australia's coastline, unless theres more work opportunities further afar..
I have an Uncle in this field, but he is failry high up - (normally that would be a good thing), but i think he has the mentality that "Nobody helped me to get a job, I've had to work hard all my life im not just going to hand it to you." I'm thinking im just going to pester him till he gets sick of me and caves in.
hahaaa!!
Thanks in advance people!![]()
Interested in offshore Oil drilling/mining?
I know one thing, its hard as **** to get into, caus everybody wants to work out there. Good morning, good rewards, and the working conditions are excellent. You just have to try and try to get out there. My mate who is currently working at the onshore oil refinery has been trying for two years to get offshore with the company he works for, he may only now be going offshore.
If your interested I can PM you some companies to pester.
Ahhh really, I don't neccessarily have to start Offshore, just would like to hopefully work up to that eventually, I suppose at least there is a slim chance, 2 years isnt that looong!!
Yeah if you could PM them through that would be a big help, ill just keep sending in a resume` every week or something, haha...
Hopefully they'll give me an interview just to stop the emails!!
I've also been trying for like the last two years, on and off, to get into the Mining Industry on the East Coast of Aus, which was my first priority to begin with, as thats what im qualified for, (aside from the compulsary Mining tickets), but as that also seems to be a "who you know" rather than a "what you know" field its been almost pointless so far..
so again information on either would be greatly appreciated!
thanks guys n girls...
