Rather interesting... I saw a poster for a new movie that has recently come out and it had one of these pictures at the bottom saying 'scan here for more info'. I had no idea what it was until I remembered and looked into it tonight.

QR Code Generator and Semacode/Data Matrix Barcode Generator

I found that I had to do a screen shot of the picture and paste it to Photobucket otherwise it was too small to read. Also I think if you use the URL straight off the website it puts the info contained in the picture as a label when you run the mouse over it.

plenty of places have 'QR' code makers....

You will being seeing more & more advertisments etc using them shortly. There was a bond one not long ago, was fairly cool. Also they have been used in a few TV shows etc...

I have made heaps of these up as 'business cards' with my work contact details.

Anyone who has a Telstra NextG Mobile already has the code reader installed, play with it next time you go past a T-Shop, or look up any one the net, & scan then like the one Troy has posted above.

Telstra link : Mobile Codes - Create your own code - Telstra

Was it the Bond Movie Troy?

Are you with Telstra, or have you just got a fairly new Nokia?

Yeah I have a N95, heaps of the NOKIAs had them before Telstra pushed its own code reader on its customers, both work well though, I think Telstra one can load a bit faster than the NOKIA one sometimes thou.
