Was reading in the Herald sun about the new VC commodore they are going to bring out. Peter Champion is spearheading the project with Patterson Cheney in vermont and they are trying to keep it as original as possible inc HDT striping and Irmsche - look wheels, my question is, is it right? i am kind of from the old school and think there is nothing better than the original esp when this car is going to be priced at over $65k, I understand about doing a "tribute" and the car looks awesome but what do other j.c members think?

You mean the HDT New Generation cars?
I like the idea, but personally, I think they look wrong, wrong, wrong.

The car companies are struggling to sell cars as it is, then they decide to waste money produces overpriced rubbish like this..
I dont see the point.
But they were selling?
These abortions are not.

obviously you havent read into these have you.
these are being done by HDT (Peter Champion) not Holden,
and are available like the older HDTs in different group packages,
as for overpriced rubbish, im guessing you dont like the HSVs either.
everyone has an opinion and either likes them or hate them, reminds me of the walky when they were new, a lot of people hated them (and still do) and wouldnt buy them, but those who own one of them are sitting on something worth a small fortune, will these car be worth something in the future who knows?
and yes if i had the cash i would buy one.
Nice if they added a supercharger to the Sv6. 250kw or something.

God...i just ate dinner, now i need to barf..please never post those ugly things again...
Seriously, why would anyone waste money on these cars? Buy an ex-demo SS, have it tuned, cammed, exhausted, upgrade the brakes and walk away with a car that is as good as the above, cheaper, yet doesn't look something that escaped the abortion bucket.

Not a fan at all. Minux's idea is the better way to go.
yuk those cars look terrible
Once in a while I see outstanding fails and I think to myself ?ARE YOU SERIOUS?. This is one of those moments. If you wanted a fake HDT car you could do alot better for alot less money just buying a early Commodore and doing it right, at least then it would look decent
Ugly, ugly, ugly.
you CANT mix an older generation kit onto a newer generation car, i'm sorry but that is the truth- saw one of them at summernats... just looks out of wack, an angular spoiler/bonnet scoop, with a smooth, round car... naa dont see the good in it sry
