How hot have you had on your car's outside temp gauge?

Got in my car after work today to see this... It hit 50 but dropped back to 49 before i got a pic of it lol







Then after i was half way home it dropped to this and stayed there..

Wtf? The highest it reached today was like 32 degrees lol. This afternoon it's been 23 degrees for most of it. That's funny as.

Don't have the ambient temperature in the ford and the VT sits in the garage but I can tell you it was so friggin hot here that the steering wheel on the falcon started to melt in the sun, had to wipe off all the gooey black sticky shit off the wheel b4 I could drive it this arvo. Gotta make hubby clean out all the shit out of the garage so we can fit both cars in cos this is a joke and tomorrow is gonna be hotter

You serious, its still in the 30's here now, and reached 39 at 11 this morning. I was suppose to go see work today, but I started drinking at just before 11 instead, and I only got up at 10 lol...... TOOOOOO HOT!!!

Used to have a temp gauge in the work ute and last summer one day it was at 65 inside the car.I cant believe how people can leave their kids or pets in cars.

Now its still 41 according to the Elders Weather Website here, but thats taken in the shade near the airport.. Never a true indication of what you get out and about!

For those with hot interiors, those silver windscreen things help, I used to use one when I parked my car outside for work (underground parking now ). They won't make it cool, but they will make it cooler, especially the bits you need to hold (steering wheel, gearstick, handbrake) so you don't burn your hands while you're driving away.

For those with a VS, the extreme temperature in a car is what makes the passenger airbag cover warp. As danja said get a windscreen shade and leave your windows down a tad.

Thats cause the temps you see on TV etc.. are shade temps not direct sun temps the temp is taken from a small parcialy enclosed box not in direct sunlight
so yer 50 degrees is realistic....
