some of you guys (and girls) may remember a couple of months or so back i posted a thread on women, and my lack of luck finding decent ones.
i took a few of your tips, and went to a local nightclub. being a very light drinker myself, and finding the clubs full of drunken yobbo's it wasn't my cup of tea. i decided to leave fairly early, and anyway through a light dispute out the front (guy harassing a girl, i broke it up) i met a nice young girl, tanya (which was the girls friend that was being harassed) who was exactly what i was chasing lol. (this was after i was ready for home, and had given up. odd how that works) anyhow, i've been dating her for roughly the last month and a half. now she's had a bit of bad luck in her family's health, and decided she wants a break for now. fair enough, even though it has been playing on my mind how i could still be with her. we're still friends, and with time she'll eventually come around
anyway, so i thought well to take my mind off things, and possibly try to meet some new nice girls as i don't know enough. i decided i'd get a 2nd job, which i have now done (only after hours, just during the week mainly) behind the bar in a local restaurant/bar/tab/etc. having never worked in this feild, i'm just after some tips from people who know how this all works. what i'm expected to do, and how to do it all mainly. i'm going to get my rsa ticket next week, and start straight after that. so just some idea's of what i should maybe expect, or how i should conduct myself at this job

get on the net and start looking up different shot/cocktail drinks and common names for them, especially important if you begin working late nights
well done btw too.![]()

Hopefully its not a shit place where yo get all those annoying alcoholic drunk farts.
hahahahah all i can say is make sure you know your cocktail names.
Yeah read up on the drink. Being a restaurant, you probably wont get drinks that are too extravagant but would still come in handy!
Start putting some bets on, so you know how that works. Lst time i did, the guy behind the bar didn't have a clue how to work the machine (and being the first time i had bet, neither did i)

Know how to a) decide when that drinker has had enough and b)tell them that they have had enough.

Thats true, AND don't be scared to tell them.... (i worked in a liquor store not a bar)
Also try and include the fact that you cant sell them alcohol for the rest of the day but you would be more then happy to sell them a non alcoholic drinkbecause if you dont the main question to "sorry mate i cant sell you anymore alcohol today" is "WHHYYY NOOOOT! *slur* IM SOOOOBER! YOU ****IN' ASSHOLE, ITS BECAUSE IM (insert color or nationality here) ISNT IT ****! BLA BLA BLA BLA!" etc....
So just say what you have to and dont be scared... usually after a couple minutes of them not listening when i tell them to leave, my usual approach is "mate if you don't get out im going to get you thrown out on your ass, now leave"
i dont recommend that one either
AND! you will probably get into a fight or almost get into one, its actually quite a rush and gives you and your work mates stuff something to laugh at
i doubt I've helped but it was generally a fun job besides getting abuse (but what do u expect? alcohol is involved)
the good thing about being behind the bar is if you have any trouble you can just call the bouncers. if they try to fight you that will just give a reason for the bouncers to kick their ass as most of them have the job because they like fighting. but yeah working in a liquor store would be a little harder. i could imagine some people trashing the place if you did not give them any alcohole
