hey guys,
well i have had a few people drive my car and they all say it feels like it has more power than other stock 5ls when they put their foot down.
Also when i have a quick one off the lights with other 5l's im always in front and pulling away first.
Please note that my car is a vs stato, has a 15" kicker and massive dd amp in the back, has 304,000ks (mostly highway) on the clock so how can it not be "tired" so there must be some mods that i dont know about. All i have are the generic commodore mods (pacemakers, ss induction, strut brace).
The car is serviced every 5000kms and runs really well for its age.
Is anyone able to help me out?
How much does it cost to get a car dyno'd

Dyno's vary in price anywhere from $50 to $150.
Most probably you have a modified tuned memcal in the car - previous owner maybe changed it. How long have you had the car?
If the cam has been changed it would be very noticable - lumpy idle.
Do you know if the diff ratio has been changed ? this will give you more get up and go
Does it do wheel stands?
If yes i would say it more than likely has been modified
Manifold vaccuum at idle can be a good way to see if the car is cammed or not. Less vaccuum(higher manifold pressure) can indicate a cam change.(or an airleak)
I ran 5.3 0-60mph with a 5 Litre motor with well over 300,000km on the clock - never had so much as had the rocker covers off. Check out my VP thread below for details. Greenfoam has run the same (a few hundredths faster IIRC) on an equally old motor. Throttle response was awesome.
I'm sure your kicker sub has some effect but more likely the other mods + a tune is probably what has been done to it.
Reaper
It has a stock diff.
I would put my money on the computer. Thanks for playing.
Thanks again for all your responses.![]()
