Fans of Top Gear might want to prepare themselves for another Stig death soon. When "Black Stig" Perry McCarthy revealed himself, Clarkson, Hammond and May offed him. Now, according to the UK's Telegraph, the "White Stig" has apparently ended the mystery, revealing himself as 33 year-old Ben Collins. Collins has raced professionally in everything from NASCAR to LeMans, and most recently served as Agent 007's double for sequences of Quantum of Solace that required fancy wheel work. It's been such a secret for so long, how did the veil of silence come to be broken? Collins himself apparently revealed his day job to the owner of an art gallery in Bristol, England when asking for help producing a limited-edition print of The Stig plying his trade.

For the record, it might be a good idea to not name the Stig in this thread...there are some people who genuinely don't want to know who the Stig is.

Meh - the thread title indicates that the mystery is answered. Right or wrong - can't answer you on that one. Apparently Hill was discounted several years ago as being Stig (too tall/short - can't remember).

I'd always suspected that the Stig changed from show to show, or that they had a "pool" of Stig's when one wasn't available, and the whole "mystery" thing was just a marketing ploy...

+1 for the pool of stigs, except instead of a marketing ploy I think it's just something to keep the lap times fair (otherwise some may feel the lap times could be done quicker/slower depending on driver and their bias)

Yeah... but Damon hill is mates with Clarkson from what I've heard... I dunno...
I personally don't think there is a pool of Stigs... just because the driving style each time is the same...
Also the body language of the Stig in the car... is consistant...
But thats what I think anyway
