How to Spell like an Australian

Ok since American spelling seems to be increasingly creeping into the everyday english of australians (due to media, movies etc from America) heres a rough guide of how to stay patriotic for Australia day!

-OUR (as opposed to -or in America)

eg. Colour, Flavour, Honour, Armour

-RE (as opposed to -er in America)

eg. Centre, Lustre, Metre (as in a unit length, a device which measures something is spelt meter eg. voltmeter)

-ISE or -YSE (as opposed to -ize or -yze in America NB: sometimes interchanged anyway)

eg. Minimise, organise, realise, analyse, paralyse

Other things include

MOULD not mold (and the like)

TYRE not tire

and most importantly: MUM!!!! not Mom!!!!!!!

added: ARSE not ass

Firefox has a nifty little "Australian" dictionary add on, fixes the annoying American misspelt words

Also with people actually speaking LOL or ROFL, try online gaming, nearly ****ed myself playing CS-Source at all the people going LOL and ROFL..... UBER-NERDS

there should be an AUSTRALIA fire fox site, like Google and eBay that has the AUSTRALIAN version....get sick of Firefox telling me every word with an "s" should be "z"

"ass" is also a donkey, so referring to donkey it's the right spelling, but yeah I have an arse not ass between my back and legs... (even though Firefox says "arse" is not a word

i have a mate who went to a computer school thingo. they nicknamed one of their mates "lol" because they thought he was funny.

One more thing, why cant americans just use the bloody metric system...

and drive on the correct side of the road...

I heard the same thing today!! A girl in front of me today in Supre said LMAO-(as in- elle em aye oh) after her friend said something about what one of the staff were wearing.
