In NSW Green P platers are restricted to 100km/h. I'm heading up to the gold coast this weekend and on the motorways the limit is 110km/h. Because i'm in QLD do i follow their rules or do i still follow NSW law?
allways follow the laws of the state you are in.
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

Yeah this confused me to, when i went to NSW I didnt know P platers were restricted to 90/100ks. I was merrily doing 110 the whole way.
sweet thanks guys - that'd explain why every other p plater was leaving me for dead last year.
i was half expecting this thread to show me how to get into mexico...

When was it like that? I've always been told it's what ever the rules are for the state...Like when someone prom QLD comes to "any other state" and are 17 with license, they are not legally allowed to drive in that "other state" because they have a different law...
Unless this is has changed and it IS now by your licensing state??
^ In the ask a copper thread the cops said that you have to obey the conditions on your licence, so if you got it in NSW you still have speed restrictions.
Surely if you were abiding by their laws, you wouldnt get into any strife?
I thought you had to apply to your licencing state regulations, aswell as the state your in local laws. So if NSW licencing restricts you to 90km/h then you must obide to 90km/h restriction in all states regardless of there restrictions.
Where as me being on a Vic licence I could go to NSW and I am free to do up to the speed limit signed, instead of NSW 90km/h restriction for P1.
Personelly before you leave go and check with your local RTA or Police station.

I've always followed the law of the state my license was issued in. My reason for this is that I know a girl who was on her Ps in ACT and was pulled over (she had white on black plates ACT) in NSW on the highway for doing 110 and the cop let her go and apologised for wasting her time. ACT P platers do not have any restrictions (last time I checked).
Howyagoin. Mate of mine got dun leaving from big day out in gold coast, on motorway doing 110km on green P's. i'd be keepin it real to keep your license.
