got palled over today in a rbt and got told it was a hoon car!!!!!!!!1

i asked the cop how u come to that answer and his reply was its got wheels and its a commodore

i was like thats like beeing racist thats like sayin all aborignals are bad or all afgans are terrisosts

he didnt like it so gave me a fine for a obscured number plate

i was like damn fadded number plate

thats stereotypical bastardisation, you could fight that mate, did you get the cops name and ID number. thats the next thing i woulda done is ask for that info, then informed him id be speaking to his station chief about it. see how quick he'd back down then. ive had a couple of instances like that, had a hand held radar pull me over reckons i was doing 114kmph (for the record i was doing about 104 changing lanes on the hwy) i disagreed with cop that spoke to me, then noticed the person holding the hand held checking speeds was a cadet, so i asked the copper if i could see proof of calibration. he refused to show me, then gave me a speeding ticket, on the alleged speed he wrote 112, when i clearly stated 104, asked him to re-write the ticket correctly, he got so angry so i took his details, got legal aid about it, then had to overseas so nothing ever came of it. but recently i had a motorcyclist copper do a u turn and speed up to catch beside me in a school zone, i was doing exactly 40kmph and he caught me up very quickly, so you ca imagine how fast he was going, at 8 am with children everywhere, he stayed in the line beside me for a few minutes, then all of a sudden swerved into my lane infront of me, no indications except for as he was turning, i had to brake to avoid hitting him. then on comes the lights, i get pulled over, and he asked me why i think he pulled me over, i stated it must be my car because i wasnt doing anything wrong, he said incorrect you had your driving lights on, so i kinda had a go at him, said you had to speed through a school zone and nearly swipe my car because i had driving lights on. out comes my pen and paper, hehe i only got a warning he left very soon after that. dont get me wrong i support our police 100% but some out there are bullies, whether its revenue raising or just plain arogance, ill always stand up for my rights, if im not in the wrong i wont bend over.

Yes, its shit, considering the heaps of shit that go by unnoticed, but theres not much you can do about it except buy said heap of shit, and blow smoke everywhere and never worry about getting pulled over.

If you weren't doing anything wrong at the time, and you talked to the cop in a civilised way, he had no business saying that, and I personally would think about putting in a complaint. The only problem is that if you do put in a complaint, at the end of the day it'll still be his word against yours.

In Victoria you can ask for a copy of the conversation. Many police now have to record the conversations when they catch someone because there's been too many complaints! And this way it clears the police officers and makes them do the right thing.

I do have some sympathy here, though its your responsibility to make sure your care meets the regs.

We pay our reg and through no fault of ours other than exposing our cars to sunlight the paint on the plates deteriorates, was big problem in vic with the first lot of green on white plates, ~AAA to DZZ before they fixed the paint and we were asked to cough up money for new plates. (i just repainted mine by hand!) ......before I got pulled over.

Does it really matter? both times you obviously had something that was able to be defected. They are police and it is part of their job. Seriously, if you know better then you'd know about your defectable items and keep the car in better condition.

If he could defect your number plate then the car isn't perfect. Don't be hung up on everyone else's car - you'll never get anywhere with that battle. Why was your perfect car defected a week ago then if there was nothing to defect? Sounds like you need to get it up to scratch, ignore the coppers bad jokes and get on with your life. If they know they are going to find something to defect you for then no doubt they'll keep doing it. If you get the car in a roadworthy condition then they'll get sick of not finding anything and probably ease off.

My VL attracted attention, but not for long because they soon realised there wasn't anything to defect and they hardly ever bothered after that. They knew the car, knew i wasn't a ******** and knew it'd be a waste of time pulling me over without prior reason. In your case they seem to have a pretty successful strike rate.

All that said, you drove into an RBT so it isn't like that same officer actually went looking for you. Sounds like tough luck to me.

I have no sympathy for you. Modifying your plates is illegal! They have to be purchased from the transport authority!

i thought these were all replaced free of charge at some point. there were windows of opportunity to have them replaced if they were of a certain age. I can't remember exactly how it worked or what the scheme was but the original ones on my commodore qualified for free replacement because of age and fade.

what commodore doesnt have mags?ill stick to my cop rims on the vl that way they cant get it for being a "HOON'S" car lol
