I was sickened but not surprised when I came across this news article.
It is getting beyond a joke and would'nt you know it, the shooter was of Middle Eastern appearance!
THE father of a man shot dead in a road rage attack says the tragedy is a lesson to young drivers to keep their cool.
Father-of-two Omega Ruston, 32, died in a hail of bullets beside the Gold Coast Highway on Monday night after an apparently minor traffic incident escalated into a lethal confrontation.
Yesterday, a devastated Phil Ruston said his family was struggling to come to terms with the sudden and violent death of his "knockabout lad".

"If anything, I hope this will be a lesson to young people to be careful where they go and how they handle themselves," he said.
Police were last night still hunting Mr Ruston's killer, who pulled up beside him near a Burleigh Heads bus stop filled with young Australia Day revellers and shot him twice at close range.
Eye witnesses were helping police to recreate what happened in the tragedy, describing how the young man was gunned down so senselessly.

The gunman was one of three people travelling in a red or maroon sedan that police believe cut off Mr Ruston's utility, which was flying Australian flags.
"It's a particularly nasty event and obviously we are concerned for other people's safety," Detective Inspector Marc Hogan said.
Phil Ruston said he had celebrated Australia Day with his son in a nearby North Burleigh park only hours before the shooting.
Insp Hogan said multiple shots were fired, two of them hitting Ruston in the stomach. He slumped against his ute and died at the scene, despite attempts to save him by two friends who were with him in the vehicle.
An off-duty police officer on her way home from work and a nurse also tried in vain to keep him alive.
The sedan, whose occupants police said included a man of Middle Eastern appearance, sped off south along the highway.
Neighbouring residents said they thought the gunshots were Australia Day fireworks until they looked out and saw Ruston lying on the road.
David Hardy, who lives across the road from the scene, said he was haunted by the incident.
"When I try to go to sleep, I just keep hearing 'bang, bang'," he said.
Another resident said he heard an argument moments before 'a couple of gunshots we thought were firecrackers'.
"There was raised voices before it but you wouldn't even describe it as hostile," he said.
"Then I've seen the guys legs under the car."
Police would not rule out a possible link between the shooting and Australia Day violence at Burleigh Heads where wild brawls erupted, but said it appeared at this stage to be a random road rage incident.
Phil Ruston said he had celebrated Australia Day with Omega in a nearby North Burleigh park only hours before the shooting.
"He was really happy because his daughter was over from Perth and she had just turned seven the day before," he said.
"We had a great day. We got a phone call (about the shooting) at two in the morning. It's pretty hard to get your head around. ... a son who is part of your life and all of a sudden he is not."
Ruston's elder daughter, Tyler, was from a previous relationship. He and his current partner, Courtney Kete, had a 10-month-old son, Tommy.
Courtney is the one who is feeling it the most," Mr Ruston said.
"She absolutely adored him.
Mr Ruston described his son, a construction worker, as both a spiritual person and a regular Aussie bloke.
He would go out of his way to help someone in trouble. He was very good-hearted, he said.
"He loved his motorbikes, loved his sports. He was your average knockabout lad."
A former missionary, Mr Ruston said the family's faith as helping them cope with the tragedy.
Police said have appealed for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Seriously, only pussies use guns. So sick of all the pussy ****s who think they are heroes for using a gun.
I hope they catch these little mongrels and lock them up for life...no doubt there will be sympathy and they wont even see jail. Seriously, reading these stories makes me want to get back into sniper work, only this time on the streets.

I just cannot believe where this country is heading.
its a disgracewhat about the guys family as well we need to change things in this country
no matter how much you are in the wrong or right in traffic, you just dont argue with anyone anymore, there is no telling what someone will do! pathetic really!
Exactly. I read another news story on it that said he got out of the car and was shot during the confrontation. Maybe he was looking for a punch on, maybe not. Lesson to be learned is stay in the car, especially with the amount of gutless idiots that are around who won't hesitate to use a knife, or this case a gun.
Drugs is another issue as well I think, people driving while high is bad news...ice addicts temper is the worst!
If he got out of the car to have a blue with the other bloke then sad to say he has also bought it against himself to some degree! as master of reality has said he should have stayed in the car! With that said these little punks should be bought to justice and prosecuted to the full extent of the law! anyway the truth be told i believe we will see this sadly happening more and more!

I'll just quickly point out skitz you mention the shooter was of middle eastern appearance, yet the article mealy says a man of that description was in the car. Why do they have to point out his appearance because he was in the car? How come it doesn't say a man of Caucasian appearance was in the car?
Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
Because that's less controversial and invites less discussion and attentionThat's what the media is there for.
I read this in the paper 10 minutes ago and thought the same thing; why does it matter if he was of middle eastern appearance? I guess you could try to justify it by saying it gives a description of the people for the public to watch out though.
Whatever the reason, there are 3 men out there now who have killed some guy for what is apparently a minor traffic disagreement. Bring on the death penalty?
I think its disgusting personally...I mean, how can someone get so worked up over being cut off to take another person's life? Its just a road.
As others said...i hope the bastards that did this get locked up...don't have my hopes up though.

Thats horrible.
I must confess that on serveral occasions I've have road rage indicents that ended in me having a "word" with the other driver and on 2 occasions with physical violence.
Looking back on it... not worth it.
Just have to swallow your pride sometimes, stay in your car and leave the other driver... because you never know who the other person is or what they are capable of.
Though its unbeleivable that someone can value human life so little that they are willing to take it over a road rage incident.
Some people are so petty.
Minux,
What? Get BACK into sniper work? Ok clearly I've missed something... but remind me to never argue with you again... lol
Capital punishment FTW.
I'm serious, Hangings and Electrocution.
Our justice system is an effing joke.
He was outside his car when it happened. It seems the story changes a bit. I too read that he was inside the car, but more stories indicate he was outside the car when it happened.
Road rage may have sparked murder: police - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
I have to agree with minux on this (there's a scary thought) if they are of middle eastern decent there is no doubt in my mind they will not be brought to trial, and again we'll be back to the "deport all from certain countries and refuse to take more" stand we had not long back, which i agree with entirely, but it's pointless to mention.
as for "creating controversy" over people of a certain ethnicity, why would the news-hounds feel the need to stir the pot unless they themselves want to see these groups sent home?

Because controversy = exposure = profit.
The media lives to be seen everywhere it can, that's the purpose it follows. Now, what gets more attention; a factual document reporting a person has been shot, OR a sensationalist news report that is subtlely hinting "HEY EVERYONE LOOK, MIDDLE-EASTERN PEOPLE HATE AUSTRALIA AND KILL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE IT"?
Whether the reporter believes certain things about the subjects of their articles or not does have an influence on their writing I'm sure, but say they were sitting on the fence... What would they do, choose the option that makes more discussion, or the option that makes less?
Don't send them back, Lock them up or shoot them...
If its good enough for a dog, its good enough for criminals. And lets face it... A criminal should know better.
