buying a 2000 model subaru impreza

hey all im looking at buying a subaru impreza wagon for me next car once i sell the VS, just wanted to know some facts on them as i havent reallly been in 1 when it been floored!. Are they fast?? are they good fun?? would they smoke a 5L, 5.7L?? the car im looking at is stock and i dont know weather its overpriced or not

they are a good car, great handling. With enough cash spent on it, you would rape a fair few cars. But all depends what your after.
My brother in law has one, and it is F***ing mint, and quick. He has spent alot of cash on it though.
Will get u upto speed. VERY quickly.

I drove one on a 600 km trip, 2001 model, i couldnt walk properly for a week. Had no top end, bottom end was laggy, barely any space and generally felt pretty cheap. That said, the new 09 range of Impreza's are bloody nice and much more comfortable. Hardly fun to drive.

Thats all i can say on them, stock, they keep up with/just ahead an LS1 to about 100 then they get smoked. Worked, they are like every other car, there will always be one faster

i totally agree with minux here

my dad owned a 2001 wrx, it handled well stopped well but lacks top end,

if you keep on boost and can launch well they are not so boggy of the mark but there gearboxes arnt they best at coping with hard launching time after time

they do hold the value pritty well, but depends how you look after it and the condition
we got are bug eye for $37k of a subaru dealer and then a year later sold it back to them for the same price
so no complains there

only reason we sold it as the seats were to hard and the ride was to harsh on my dads back

they launch hard but do lack top end power, 2nd gear is weak so you have to watch hard changes.
bit thirsty when on constant boost (which is needed to keep em moving fast)
price of soem parts- ****ing LOL
