Well I'm going to be in Sydney this weekend for Top Gear Live. Flying there on Friday and returning on Monday. Can anyone recommend things for me to do there to fill the time? What places should I check out?
I'm sure there are a few other JC people making the trip up there for the show, so I wouldn't mind hearing what they have planned.

Sydney Tower is good, as is the Powerhouse Museum. You can catch the train or ferry to Milson's Point and then walk back across the Harbour Bridge into the city. Aimlessly wonder around all the shops. Luna Park is supposed to be good, but I've never been there myself.
For the record as I mentioned before I'm going as well..i fly in on Thursday afternoon, and I'm going to the 8 pm session then flying out the following morning..gonna be sweet!

By train is even better, that will intensify the experience by 10 times lol
But seriously it depends what sort of thing u are into, theres taronga zoo, the sydney aquarium, centrepoint tower, beaches they are all typical touristy type things to do. Its supposed to be a stinking hot weekend, 43 forecasted in west sydney on saturday so maybe hit the beaches.
stocky, if you listen to julie's advise, make sure to take plenty of lubrication and body armour.

LMAO at Julie, Sydneys cultural diversity
To fufill your cultural adventure you MUST catch the train, it'll be tops i bet ya!
oh come on, I didn't even mention Kings Cross lol
hit up sum clubs. famous in sydney. or get shitfaced and go to the cross.
Take a romantic stroll through redfern, followed by a brisk walk with lakemba. From there you could train it to the cross.

The Botanic gardens are one of the best in the world and a must see, plus they are right next to the opera house and the bridge. Most of the beaches all around look the same and worth a look atand taking a swim in one of the famous pools on the rocks is worth doing. If you're brave enough kings cross on a weekend night might open your eyes :P but it's a little on the scary side of not scary
. Oh yeah taking a trip on one of the ferrys across the harbour, you should do that just like everyone should take a tram in Melbourne. Sydney girls are fast and easy so be prepared for that:

If you can afford it, and can still get a booking, by far the best Sydney attraction is Bridgeclimb. Unparalleled views of Sydney, a close up view of how the bridge was built, something not easily forgotten. Not too cheap though and you need to be able to take heights without a hassle.
Oh man I can't wait for top gear im going to that aswell![]()
TVR-161, What about AKA in Sutherland![]()
Personally I don't know why people consider the Cross to be scary...I've been twice and both times I was massively underwhelmed...there's plenty of strip clubs, with pimps trying to get you in the door, but other than that...meh, the Valley absolutely shits over it!!!!

We are planning on visiting Sydney Tower, then just looking around at the shops.
I'm leaving Melbourne at 6am Saturday morning, driving to Sydney for the 7pm show. Felt like a bit of a drive, so thought would do the trip down.
well its either getting stabbed in bankstown or getting into a riot in nulla j/k![]()
public transport, oh man ur totally ****ed
this week we are meant to get melbournes heatwave so cityrail will be in meltdown.
if u wanna go clubbing, the vinyl room in gymea. cronulla is a really nice beach if you wanna do the whole beach thing, will also be less crowded than manly etc
