Just wana know everyones thoughts on the wrestling stuff on foxtel like TNA Impact and that WWE wrestling and stuff.
Just got foxtel installed not long ago and this was Fox8 today, I thought it was utter crap an wondered who could get entertained by this??

or even if you've seen it other than foxtel.

i know some people take it very seriously, what makes me laugh is when the actors try to make it look real.

I love it/loved it. Ive been watching it since I was a little kid. I actually even went and did wrestling with some Australia company a while ago before it was shut down and a friend of mine who did it with me currently works for TNA.

The moves are real, the punches are fake, and they know how to land to minimise the impact. Its entertaining, well it used to be. The shows are more steered towards the little kids nowadays, when in the late 90's early 00's it was aimed at the young adults, and it definatly shows with their lame ass story lines.

if you want good wrestling, dont watch WWE or TNA though. ECW was intense (not the new ECW that is run by WWE). You could actually believe these guys were going to fight to the death. Japanese wrestling is also incredible.

I hate it my mates into it alot, he always tells me who he thinks is going to win, i just say what ever the script says is going to win, the wonly wresting i like watching is ultimate fighter on fuel tv UFC/MMA.

On behalf of my 2 teenage boys, I ticked awesome. They love it. They have both been watching for years since they were little boys and even buy the main event shows to watch. The younger one owns lots of wrestling dvds and even title belts (imitations) bought when he was younger. They used to believe it was real but now it's purely entertainment for them both.

Me: I think it's stupid, pointless and boring and love to tease them when they watch it.

Some people do take it seriously, some people do think its real. And you may think they're stupid, but do you think they give a ****? they're enjoying it.

Its not that easy to act out something like that live you know, do you think if someone shot a live action movie it would be anywhere near as good as the ones you watch? they have to take a shit loads of takes to get it to look decent. And wrestling is a two way thing (sometimes more than that) if the person you're wrestling with sucks then you're going to look shit too (see: Triple H vs Great Khali and Kozlof, HHH is a wicked wrestler but when those two are added to the match theres no saving it)

Now I know wrestling is fake and always have, but i dont watch it for the 'compelling' (see: re-used) storylines. I discuss it with friends on what the business are going to do next, what wrestlers going to get pushed, I also discuss how good the wrestlers are in how they sell moves and their character.

Theres alot more to wrestling than what meets the eye.

Lameeeee. Was good when stone cold and the rock were wrestling but its targeted at 8 year old kids now and the storylines are lameeeeee.

Yeah ive pretty much stoped watching it now, but i still turn it on once in a while. I probally stopped watching about 2004ish. Used to love WCW. But yeah whoever says they are all meatheads, go watch some of the smaller guys. Ultimo Dragon, Rey Mysterio Jr, Psicosis, Juventud, those guys will blow your mind away.

Its funny watching it though, and then going and actually wrestling. You learn how they do it all. I was shocked how they actually bleed. For those who think they use blood capsules, think again.
