checked all the vitals? oil level and quality, air filter, anything obvious when you pop the cover off basically. those motors ahve a million sensors so its hard to diagnose whats going on without the scantool for the ecu
Hey guys,
I have a Honda BF135 4Stroke outboard on my Boat that has just clocked up 70hrs running time. The trouble is, over the weekend, the Check Engine light came on, and an unbearable buzzing sound emitted from the dash.
This Boat/Motor combo is almost new, and it did shock me that I am having trouble with it already!!
Just wondering if anyone has any advice that may help me find the problem before I take it to Honda and they charge me an arm and a leg diagnose what is going on???
One thought I had, was that around and hour of running time before the buzzer sounded, I had refueled the boat from a bowser in Echuca, Maybe water in the fuel???? The boat had been running great all week, and we had use 120ltrs of Mornington fuel without a drama.....
Thanks in advance![]()

Thanx Mate, yeh I checked everything I could, This thing is like new, really didn't expect it to happen!!
A mate mentioned that the Alarm will need to be reset to turn it off!! Any Ideas how this is done? I disconnected the Battery overnight, that didn't work!! Maybe its a case of turning ignition on and removing lanyard from safety swicth a couple of times or something???????

i've had the same thing with evinrude's buzzing when hot, but the buzzer turns off when it cools down. Check for a water blockage ? Same buzzer if water splashes in the air intake. It's not a honda service reminder is it, or loose wire ?
Yeh that was my first thought, but water is pouring out the nozzle as it should, plus it Buzz'z as soon as started, even in the 1st 10 seconds of running time.....
Also, my Boat has water temp and oil press warning lights etc, and they are not on, just the check engine light.............
Looks like I'll have to fork out some hard earned $$ to Honda, yet again![]()
