    Default they couldnt steal it?

just thought id give you all a laugh...the other day my mate parked his car ouside work (which is a shooping center) before trading hours about 3am..(hes a baker)

he owns a vn commodore and an r34 skyline..but drives his vn for a daily...comes out about 7am that morning to find someone has smashed both passenger side windows in his vn sedan...looked at the dash under steering wheel and see wires had been tampered with so obviosly tried to steal it..

after all that they couldnt get it started or something so instead they bent his steering colum so that the steering wheel was facing the drivers side window...

..so my mate couldnt drive it anywere and had to get it towed..but my question is..they must have been retarded if they couldnt steal a vn??

funny isn't it? "i can't steal this car so i'm going to wreck it as much as i can, just to ruin someone's day - someone i don't even know and didn't deserve it.". they can't just leave it in peace. same thing happened to my dads HQ about 20 years ago. they couldn't steal the car, or the radio (he actually had a desk stereo bolted to the floor hahaha), so they just got out the knife and ripped up all the seats, roof lining etc.

what i want to know is who raises people thinking that this kind of behaviour is ok? stealing the car is bad enough... let alone ruining it if they can't.

^^^ Sadly it's not uncommon. Mate of mine had an R32 which had been in a fairly minor accident, but had to be towed to a mechanic. It was towed there at about 9pm, and that same night someone came and broke into it, stole the bonnet, boot, seats, gauges, wheels, pretty much everything. What was left they just smashed for the sake of it (dash, tail lights, rear windows etc).

    Some people are just scum.

Id love a tit for tat rule, where if you find out who tried to steal your car, and they for example broke both headlights, you should be allowed to break both their eyes, preferably with something sharp and hot

kinda wish i knew these newer cars if i know how to steal it i know how to better protect it.... all i know how to steal are kingswoods... mainly from once or twice when i lost my keys and had to break-in, semi-hotwire it (i put a switch in to the coil ) and then pull off the steering wheel and punch in the locking mechanism and remove the purple and blue wire from the top of the column to crank it.. or were they both purple? i dunno.. been some time... and a screwdriver sufficed most the time
Financial Crisis? What crisis? Fuels cheap and so are parts. I dont see no crisis.

X2. Still would have taken a lot of effort to bend.

My Ex-VL was broken into in an underground carpark whilst me and the missus were doing some chrissy shopping a few years back. Ignition barrel accepted any key or object to start after that. Only lost a $5 note from the console and was pleased (well, as much as one can be in that situation) the would-be theives only smashed the rear quarterglass.

The Seccy's got a laugh when I pulled the lead (went from whatever the component's called to the dizzy centre) out of my pocket.

Thats a crack up, when my car got stolen it was the complete opposite.

Most considerate car thieves in the world. Parked it neatly on the side of the road, interior was cleaner when it was found that when they stole it, they put the quater panel window the removed in the boot, hadn't been thrashed (the tyres were exactly the same as pre-stolen) and it had half a tank of petrol in it.

    that is unbelievable.

I had a vl stolen from my driveway on xmas eve a few yrs ago. I had only gotten home from work half hr before. chased em out onto the road in my boxers, heard it start when I was in the shower. Silly me left my wallet, and very expensive zippo in there. But i had the head unit face in my pants pocket.
    Could never figure that out.
Got the car back a week later, they had been drivin it round like it was theirs, got spotted and chased by the cops, lost control and hit a brick wall. pretty much the only thing good infront of the a piller was the motor. would have needed a new nose cone, suspension, guards, bonnet etc.

I only owned it for 2 months. paid $1000 spent $3000 sold for $400. wasnt insured, was waiting for my paycheck after chrissy to get the full comp
