Depends on the place, but I've seen fully qualified people get about $35k pa.
Roughly $17 p/h. Not the highest paying job, but it's easy.
Hi guys bit off-topic, but my mate works at a agency and says he can get me a full time job as a sales parts interpreter, which is a traineeship while doing the job. Im wondering who does it here? and what is the pay like when finished traineeship? Ive asked here because I cant find that info anywhere on the interwebz. I know it wont be much $$ but would like to know a rough amount.

at our dealership we pay spare parts interperaters $19 an hour, plus theres monthly bonuses and stuff liek that. if you know how to make the most out of what your selling then you can make some pretty good money for the effort you put in compared to other jobs![]()
Just remember that it may lead to other things.

Okay forgive me if this sounds stupid, but what does being a Parts Interpreter entail exactly? Is it like working at Global or Repco or am I way off?
Once again, sorry to sound like an idiot.
quick example
your contacted by a crash shop
you are required to interipret what parts the shop needs ie: panels
orgernise the part or locate it and get it sent to the crash shop
not every compaine/manifacture will name the parts the same,
holden my call a guard a guard where mitis might call it a flare or fender
so this is where you interpret to figger out the part needed

Awesome, thanks for the info.
Hey Guys i am a Spare Parts interpreter, and i love it i enjoy working with cars but i prefer to work on them in my own time couldnt do it all day.
I really enjoy it. I get sent to crash repairers to do quotes. Because we deal with all the parts in the car we order everything from bumper clips to whole sides of cars. You get to learn a lot about all the models and learn a lot of useless shit.
How ever i cant speak for everyone else but its not easy there is alot to learn and alot more to it then just sitting at a computer if you dont want to sit at a computer all day dont do it. Some of the stuff you will have to learn involve dealing with supersessions learning qty's gotta know how many clips screws and mounts there are, you need to have a resonalbe mechanical aptitude. Also a good knowledge of the vehicle range your working with and the ability to remember different models because even tho they may look the same there are hundereds of changes made between models and even chassis numbers, which is why a genuine dealership will almost always ask for vin number to ID exactly when your car was built.
The pay is pretty good can land a parts manager job earing 80k + with a car and fuel + bonuses but dont exepct that starting out. I clear about 750pw after tax and have been doing it for 2 years...
Anyway sorry for the long post just thought i would add my 2 cents... Do it reckon...
