greenfoam the same time i bought my vp v6 exec i was considering a 1969 valiant sedan with original interior in good condition and a new mettalic green paint job, when driving it felt like sitting on a lounge, the only reason i didnt get it is because the dealer said it was a 265 when really it was the smaller version... 3 grand with rwc and rego sometimes i wish i got that as id still have it to this day and have dropped a carby v8 in it on the cheap
lol banks, the last one would run pretty well
I think there are the true "head turners", (Category 1) then there are those that make you look because they are ugly, weird, battered to buggery, or shitheaps. (Category 2)
True headturners, to me, are immaculate old cars (ie pre 1970 for example), exotic and rarely seen cars, such as those pictured elsewhere in this post, or stunningly modified, but intelligently engineered cars. Just having a blower out the bonnet on a street car to me is category 2. The car needs to have a lot more done to it to become a head turner, but like someone else on this thread, I don't like machinery pushing out the bonnet.
As far as I am concerned, no Jap car deserves Category 1. Not even the latest GTR or 350Z or whatever it's called. Modified rice munchers shit me to tears. Crap like Mitsubishi Lancer hatchbacks, with Altezza lights, neons, cannon and doof doof dumb-bum drivers - road kill looking for somewhere to die. I followed a Civic yesterday - dead stock, black steelies with no covers, but, hang on, it had a cannon - had to be a head turner. Turn right, son, the tip's just down the road....
Thank God I grew up when a hot car had a six, at least....
Dont mind the new vette either!

Something I can guarantee to be a head turner is the Lotus 340R. Followed my old boss to a motor show while he drove one and it was funny watching the amount of people that almost snapped their necks trying to look at it.
