Default What defines a 'real head turner'?

I was bored and looking on Carpoint and searched for 'real head turner' and it got me thinking of what sort of car actually turns heads. Or is it just a figment of someones imagination. I would really like to hear from someone who actually has a car who people look at. And I don't mean a casual glance.. I mean a full on stare.

Anyway, here is a few examples of 'real head turners'.

Granted it is a V8 and has 'fresh custom paint' it would hardly turn heads.. although my girl said she would look at it because 'it would be the only VN I have ever seen that doesn't have the paint falling off'

Or what about this one? Apparently "This car is a real head turner, every where you go people stop and stare". Why would they stare at it, does a hot naked blonde chick drive it around?

Hilux + chrome wheels + nudge bar = nothing special. No reason to turn your head here.

WTF? Who HASN'T seen an Impreza.. and this one ISN'T a WRX!! But still, my favorite part is the fake chrome checkerplate floor mats

Now to the other end of the scale.. a Buick Riviera with a 425.

This is one to admire! It is a 1980 Cadillac Phaeton Turbo Sparks. Sure, it isn't to everyones taste.. but how often do you see a car like this!

This one would turn heads.. it looks brand new yet it is over 90 years old!

Like I said, if someone here has a 'REAL head turner' please post it up

I think it comes down to personal taste and some of the owners above have none.

I don't know if I like it, but I'd sure stare:

    Because it's SO HOT:

It's like a train wreck... you shouldn't look, but...

And I'd be laughing too hard to turn away:

    Non of the above!
Maybe a hotrod or something with a 6/71 hanging out the bonnet would do it for me.

Edit- the Vette will do it

That matt black Corvette would look sooo much tougher if it had a massive blower sticking out the bonnet!

I should also add.. all the cars I posted were on Carpoint and their owners actually claimed that they were 'real head turners'.

Agree with that 100%.....When i went to the Summernats this year, there were people creaming themselves over late model Commodores and i'm just thinking, it's just a bloody late model Commodore. Who cares?? Anyone can go buy one, so whats so good about it?

I don't really stop to look at anything post WB Holden though....It has to be a REALLY nice Commodore for me to stop & look.

good headturning: something clean or sounds good... i dont give a shit if it has 22" inch's etc etc, but if i saw a (example) vn exec, resprayed with black bumpers, tinted windows and nothing TO out there, there i will look

the other day i actually saw a realllllly clean toyota corona, clean factory paint respray with flakes put into it and everything looked so new, like it came off the factory floor.. i couldn't stop looking

bad headturning: when your in a car with a shitload of ugly accessories(rice) OR they think your a hoon haha....

but to me, clean = head turner...

i think a head turner means something different like if you see kombi van (and i F-ing hate kombi vans) go past on 18" rims you look unlike a wanker in a done up commodore (like i can talk) you don't even give them the satisfaction of smiling at them lol.
