Sounds like a wanker.
No doubt we will have the same people come into this thread saying he is right etc etc.
In today's Sydney Daily Telegraph is a small article about a 26 year old woman who found that Allianz wanted to charge her the same green slip premium as an under 25 driver, despite her perfect driving record.
The General Manager of Allianz confirmed that 25 is not the profitability cut-off point, that 31 is, so all under 30 drivers cop the $629 premium.
The General Manager also stated that, if it wasn't for legislation, Allianz would charge $10,000 for young drivers of hotted up vehicles with bad driving records.
He also said that "under 25 drivers can complain until the cows come home - they should just shut their mouths and think themselves lucky".
How's that for an attitude towards ALL younger drivers, even those up to 30 years of age. What a mongrel - he was probably never a young driver himself.
Sounds like a wanker.

What a tool. Old fogeys like him need to be let off the chain once they start going senile, I think he's beyond that point now. That's not the sort of mentality that anyone in any position of power in a big company, especially one dealing with other people's money and livelihoods, should be carrying.
I read last week that there are more hoon drivers over 40 in comparison to people under 21![]()
Allianz recognised as world’s most ethical insurance company
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it?
Pff. Ethical insurance.
The thing is its all about $$$$$$$$$$![]()
reminds me of a sister of a mate. she had the plan of not getting her p's until she was 25, because most accidents happen to drivers under that age.
didn't seem to clue in on the fact that when she got them she'd be just as innexperienced. (and yes, she didn't get her l's until she was 23, so she didn't spend any longer learning)
The cut off is 31....well that's a load of bullsh*t then isn't it...lucky I'm not with Allianz I guess lol, but here's hoping the other insurance companies aren't the same...

I can't find his age. I wanted to find out how many hairs he still has left on his head and what colour they were. Perhaps if someone can find a photo of him, we can use some formula like counting his nose hairs divided by the length of them in mm to find his age or somethingI want to know if he's an old bugger (Very likely, considering his occupation/position in the company.)
He does sound like a tool, but I blame the crap drivers more than I blame him - they're the ones who are really jacking up insurance prices.

What an wanker. I am insured and financed with Allianz.
No way am I renewing anything with them next year! They should value all their customers, regardless of age.
Its better to be making less money with people over 25 than lose them all together when they know they can get it cheaper elsewhere and also losing any younger ones who have no benefit for staying with them (like me!)

Haha yeh I remember when hubby and I hit 25 we thought woo hoo cheap insurance only to be disappointed to fin out that 30 is the new 25. We both hit 30 last year and greenslips dropped around $300glad our insurance company is using 30 for the cut off age not 31 lol.
ok so can someone please tell me what insurance mob i should use then?
This site will let you enter details then gets quotes from all the major CTP insurers:
Motor Accidents Authority - Green Slip Price Guide Form
There's usually only a few dollars between them when I do it, so I just go with NRMA as they give me a 5% discount if I get my comprehensive and CTP through them.
Other states may have a similar thing? Are the prices the same?

i both agree and disagree with this statement. but i can relate the way insurance companies roll to how minesites are... a few f*ckwits do stupid things and injure or kill themselves and the people who arent totally mentally retarded get the arse of it by the way of new regulations, rules, SWP's (devised mostly by people who have no experience what so ever and are often more dangerous surprisingly) and other annoyingly over the top things.. then again it helps to protect me from said retards...
Its just annoying that no-one rewards drivers who ARE good but are under 25 or 30 or whatever... I'v tried a few times to get a decent insurance (sure i'v only been driving for 4years now) but in that time the worst thats happened is i got done 19 over.. once... I think its just crap being classed as a useless twit who causes accidents due to inexperience or bad driving (lolhooning) because of a few idiots on the roads or just plain inexperienced drivers who shouldnt be on the road to begin with... dont punish us with insurance, disallow bad drivers on the roads by means of more intensive testing.. least people will have more skills when they first get their license.. Even if its something as simple as implementing ** to get "P" plates you must pass a 2 hour Defensive driving course ** means training to pass this makes govt monies, makes the companies monies and there are better drivers on the road for it as they are slightly more prepared for situations that they may come across and otherwise would not have been able to handle themselves
my 2c.. lols..
Financial Crisis? What crisis? Fuels cheap and so are parts. I dont see no crisis.
If the quotations in the paper that are ascribed to this boofhead are accurate, and if his views actually reflect Allianz's attitude and not just his personal views, it's pretty obvious that, unless you are 31+. THEY DON'T WANT YOU!
Better education etc, probably wouldn't matter a damn to them, because you younger drivers, as a group, are unprofitable. You all cost too much in claims.
What makes me laugh is the extensive advertising campaign Allianz is currently running for comprehensive insurance - the ad with all the large birds crapping and landing in the traffic. How much would they want from you for comprehensive insurance? Probably not much point asking, they don't want your business for that, either. But their ads don't tell you to p*** off unless you are over 30, do they?
