gotta agree. who knows if the L plater is some kid out on his very first drive ever. some people just dont want to risk their car being that close to them, so we just keep our distance

Hey I really don't think it's got any! besides all the noise things make (you can hear grass you run over quite loud) it weighs stuff all, Like 1100kgs and that's with full eletrics etc, pretty big "small" car too. only 88kw :P but in a manual with short ratios and 3.82 diff gears it goes allright in 1st gear . I wonder which SS the original poster was talking about? I assume the VS is the more likely car to want to race? besides a stock VY auto being a bit of slug over a short distance the VS looks more hoon worthy ?

Gotta agree with Danja's comment, L-platers deserve their space. At least for their peace of mind to learn in peace. Although, there are rare instances drivers who pick on L-platers. Seen it done, it disgusts me.

When I was on my p's there was no way in hell I would be looking to race the v8 next to me. Firstly out of respect and secondly from fear of shame when they go past like I've stopped if they decide to put me in my place.

Question is, why do people do it? I can only think of them wanting to hear it going hard but other than I'm beat.
I swear some young guys think that a drivers license doubles as a cams license.

I find they go after other P platers or V8's. Seems like they are trying to compensate for something. I wish they would just invest in a penis pump and build a bridge and get over it!

They just do it for kicks. Some young guys will never learn.

Yeah with L platers, I've seen a couple of cork heads hassle out L platers, as they were young females. All it does is freak them out. It's a worry....

Yeah depending on my mood sometimes I will. While going past I'll shake my head and insinuate with hand movements they are feeding the chooks.

You and my mate would have some stories between ya I'm sure!

Could well be unaware or would rather others look like idiots than them planting it to fly past as you put it a 'puss box' lol

Funnily enough mate it's the vy. Haven't been driving the vs enough to really find out. Just mild mods with valve springs, full zorst, edit, timing chain, underdrive but the giveaway being the cam.

Haven't really enjoyed it since i bought it back in '04 to be honest. Too big, too heavy and that's why I recently got the clubby to do up then get rid of the vy. Company car so no need for 2 cars really and the vs/r was always the best looking of the later model holdens. Followed by the vy of course!

why would anyone buy a v8 if they think it's so gay, lame, and over-compensating to put your foot down! i'll race someone to the speed limit if they want a go. i don't care if i win or lose, it just makes me smile. i drive a v8 to enjoy it not to drive it like a 4 cylinder 100% of the time.

When I was on my L's I had that a couple of times, at least I think I did. It's also entirely possible they would have been ****tards just as much to any other drivers on the road too though I guess. I had people pulling out in front of me on roundabouts and getting cut because I got too close to them apparently if you're on your L's you have to give way to everyone all the time according to these people.

Also when I first started driving, I was learning in a little 1.3L 4cyl mazda, a manual. I stalled it at a Give Way sign, and even though I was still waiting for a gap anyway, the two tards in the car behind me start leannig on the horn. I then took it upon myself to very slowly wind the window down, flip them the bird, slowly wind it back up, and slowly start the car, then slowly wait for the biggest gap possible in the traffic coming past.
