Default pine for something you had as a kid?

I miss my old Dragster from my childhood. everytime i see someone riding one (rare!) i stop them as ask how they got it etc. (for the younger people on this forum a dragster was the 70's most popular bike, before BMX was born)

they had a 3 speed shifter (just like an auto trans shfter).

is there anything you had as a kid you wish you still had?

There is a reason why Commodore is number 1 since 1979. Its the best Aussie car. I loved my VL and I love my VE. I cant help it.

We've got one of those....it's collecting cobwebs out in the shed. It needs a fair bit of love though - my husband found it out on the nature strip during a council collection.

Can't think of anything that I pine for though.....have to have a think about it.

I wish i stil had my pushbike. Always liked going to the local parks, n making jumps.... it got stolen just before i got a car. I had a free agent maverick.

Always love looking on youtube and watchn vids of the younger kids pulling tricks etc..

Look at Minux's photos, he's got some bike ones in it.

My parents still have 2 of these sitting in their shed. The amount of times I have tried to knock off my own bike I cannot say lol. Each time the old man catches me lol.

As for what I pine for, all my old He-Man and Voltron toys. I had pretty much every he-man you could get, just cant find them, I know they are in a massive box somewhere on the farm. The voltrons were stolen

Yep. My husband plans to fix it up, re-chrome it and give it to my son. He's only 6 so not quite big enough for it yet.

the thing i miss most isn't something like a toy, it's just the open space we had (23acres, was going to be a farm but never happened)

We've got one in the shed. Was mums when she was a kid. Has the 3 speed shifter on the frame as you described and even has a long retro metallic purple seat . Its probably aged a fair bit by now though. Mum was gonna throw it on hard rubbish .

Pretty much those 2 things above! although we only had 8 acres of land, but every day i would ride my moto up & find some part of our property to explore! Our house was on the side of a hill with a gully @ the bottom and we once found a 4 meter carpet python that was as round as a saucer! anyway i spose i would love to get my old bike back "my uncle taxed it and flogged it off" it was called a Honda Monkey and it had some guts for a little bike!
EDIT: this isn't my bike just a pic i scored of the net, but my bike was exactly the same with a few dings/scratches!

    RIPPLES.

(for those that were not alive in 70's, they were black shoes with ripples soles on the bottom which we used to slow our dragters with as they had no brakes)

My Lego collection. It's sitting in my spare room for my son when he is old enough, then I can justify sitting there and building stuff lol. That's years away though cause he's only 11 months old

You could build stuff now on the pretence of getting some practice in .

I miss some of my matchbox cars. I had these ones where the front and side doors would get "damaged" when you crashed into things - can't remember what they were called now. This is back in the 80s.

I also miss my Babysitters Club book collection. Wish I never sold them. I'd love to pass them onto my daughter one day, but they're all gone .
