Default Just had a fire behind my house

Well that was a bit intense. I was bored so i just went and took the motie out behind my house for a little ride through the dirt trails. i must need glasses because i rode along the track and it wasn't until i was coming back did i realise that the paddock about 100 metres away from the trail i was riding was on fire.
I could just see thick white smoke pouring out of the grass. This paddock is huge and leads pretty much to my back fence.
So i quickly went home and called the 000
3 Trucks were in the paddock putting it out within 5 minute of the call.

Given what has happened in Melbourne lately i knew they would of jumped on it straight away and they did. their reaction was very re-assuring and they did a good job.

well done all melbourne fire fighters you guys do an amazing job.

the cfa has a 3-7 minute turnout time but considering the past few weeks everyone is on the edge and jumped on it quickly

seems he was riding on dirt and the paddock was 100m away so i doubt his exhaust caused it

i don't ride anywhere near dry grass there are wide dirt trails around the back of my house that i stick to. and even if i spark did fly over to grass, the fire was (as i said) 100 metres into the middle of the paddock where you couldnt walk to without being messed up by snakes
