a mate of mine bought a set of rimsabout a month ago, today he wanted to swap me for my rims. He was told the were genuine hsv wheels but when i had then off today they say made in china. I was under the belief that holden and hsv wheels were made by ROH, can someone out there confirm this for me please this guy wants to kill the tyre shop owner.
I may be crazy, but, i am happy about it!!
nah im pretty sure the way to check is to see if there is a hsv stamp on them.
dunno for sure though, just heard that off someone before.
what rims are they anyway? seen them on a hsv before?
cos my girlfriends dad went to a tyre joint and the dude sold him 'hsv' rims for his vt clubby, they arent hsv rims though... just hsv centrecaps
my ride [ vt - no style ]
hsv rims are all stamped hsv and have a part number on them behind one of the spokes ,there is fake ones out there
Yeah sounds like they are fakes mate.
Check the rims for a HSV Stamp on the back of the rim or a ROH logo/stamp.
so roh do make hsv rims?
wtf? i didnt know that lol. i hate roh rims, well the look of most aftermarket rims they make anyways lol

the rims are supposed to be vx gts they look exactly like the real thing
I may be crazy, but, i am happy about it!!
no money JD just straight swap for the rims. anyway he backed out when i showed him the "made in china". now he wants to go sort out the shop owner, he swapped a set of 20" XHP rims AND $1500 for the gts rims. so he was not a happy chappy he is armed with his receipt and going in for the kill.

Every genuine HSV rim past a certain date (not sure OF the date) have HSV and ROH stamped into the back. Being VX GTS, they should have ROH and HSV BOTH stamped into the back. Seems the worst is true, they are fakies dude. There are heaps of fake sets of VX GTS, VY GTS & VY SIGS out there. I mean HEAPS.
yeah thats the thing, they are cheap and nasty fakes, ive seen them crack, even whole spokes break off them, yeah nice and cheap but one pothole and theyre stuffed lol, plus nearly everyone has vy sigs. fakes should be banned or something. isnt there copyright laws anymore?
my ride [ vt - no style ]
I don't think copyright laws would have anything to do with it, since its not a book or whatever...but the design of the wheel would be patented, so I'd assume that the fakies would breach the rights of HSV (or whoever holds the patent for that design)

Not copyright laws, but the fakies are made overseas then imported, and because they are made overseas, they don't have to pass certain levels of standards, production quality etc over here, only ones that are made here do. So the scum overseas make the fakies, and send them over with no worries. There should be a bloody law on it.
Nah, as Gren said, there are minute differences in the physical aspect of the fake version of the HSV wheels, that would most likely allow them to get around those laws.
Must have started at VT, i can't recall the VS HSV wheels having the stamps on them, but i have never really looked at mine.
I thought your wheels were VX Clubby wheels?

Yeah, in fact it was actually you that put that pic up....all I know is that I wouldn't want to be in, or anywhere near a car with those wheels.
20 inch sigs, what do you think?

i may be wrong, but wasnt it the later model hsv's (vt onwards) only had hsv stamped in them, where as earlier ones had roh.... i maybe wrong tho.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Nah, the newer rims have HSV and ROH both stamped into them. Early model ones only had HSV stamped into them.
