i thought i should give everyone a heads up about a new ANZ email scam going around.
i received an email from "clamed" to be the ANZ online banking team stating that i changed my password, and to click the link to confirm it.
the first giveaway is that I've never been with ANZ nor is my family with ANZ.
once i clicked the link it seemed to take me to the official ANZ website.
but i noticed the link was :
matrixlinkshell.com/forums/cache/skin_cache/online.anz.com.au/
where the real one is
https://www.anz.com/inetbank/login.asp
Matrix Linkshell v 2.0 is some type of world of warcraft game site
next, it didn't have the ANZ logo next to the address
the last give away is that the "back to anz" button doesn't take you to the home page
the guys have done a good job coping ANZ's website down to the last detail, all the links expt. for the "back to anz" will take you to the official site
it was reported on a New Zealand website yesterday
just a heads up to everyone

but i'd thought it'd be rude for me not to reply
please feel free to send them some more

Also to note with this the true ANZ banking site doesnt ask for credit card details on it either only your CRN & Password will/should be asked....
I get these about once a week . Funny thing is i don't even bank with them .
The best one i got was from the F.B.I .They wanted me to help them catch a couple of terrorists so they needed my bank details so they could deposit some ransom money in it . I managed to trace the mail back to the U.K .
The sad thing is some people do fall for it.
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
i normally get them from every other bank but the anz.
and i bank with anz
Anyone who falls for these deserves to lose their money...I mean seriously...you would have to be retarded, even then, I doubt most mentally challenged people would even fall for this.

Exactly ^^^^
NO BANK will ask you for ANY personal details via email. They never do it over the net. Everyone should know this by now. If you ever get an email claiming to be from Westpac, ANZ, Commonwealth, NAB, St George etc and asking for your bank details, never reply to it.
Banks will always call you or send you a letter if they need to confirm your banking details.
Reminds me of one I got a few years ago, I kept it because it was such a laugh...

I remember I also got one a few years ago claiming to be from a British lottery claiming I'd won a brand new Toyota....they couldn't even spell "Toyota" properly, lol...
