Hey,
I was looking into installing a K&N pod filter to my VX. i just need to know..
What i need partswise?
How do i install it properly?
and
How much roughly?
thanks, i know Pod filter threads are quite common but i can never find the answer i want.
Omg i really don't want to repeat myself about pods. Where's Morton? He shall lead this thread to victory. I think a great quote of his is in Foamy's signature.
Don't bother. A pod sitting in your engine bay is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. It will suck in hot air and do sweet F/A except make a wanky induction noise which sounds nothing like even a pretend supercharger. That's just my opinion. But if you would still like to do it, just buy a pod and attach it your intake pipe. Done. Around $80 for something that does nothing really.
so really a pod filter won't change at all?
NO . use search function. theres 10,000,000,,000000 threads on this lol

No not really. Maybe slightly tighter throttle. But hardly enough to warrant spending $80 on a K&N or similar filter. Unless you set it up in the front bar. That involves a bit of bracket mounting and hooking up some pipe etc. Then it might work ok.
Better off with an over the radiator air intake and panel filter. Trust me dude do a search and look through some threads and read different opinions.
righto, i'll just try searching through every thread lol..
i have heard that a panel filter is much better, and i do already have an over the radiator ait intake so should i just buy a new panel filter for it?
Trust me, you will find plenty of opinions on it. This topic has been covered heaps.
Save the money and spend it on new oxygen sensors. Best "upgrade" for any Ecotec![]()
what would new oxygen sensors do?
i think i know, just confirming
Exposed POD in engine bay = worse performance...
K&N Panel filter in stock airboc = 1,000,000 times better...
PS
Use search... this has been covered so many times its not even remotely funny anymore...
i lol'd.
no wait I didn't.
Wait..
wat?
They live in your exhaust and help the engine maintain the correct air/fuel ratio.
They crap out after ~100,000kms and don't give good reasons, which makes your car burn more fuel and become sluggish and unresponsive. Giving the car a good service, strategically cleaning a few bits and pieces, and throwing in some new O2 sensors will make most Ecotecs feel like they have a new engine in them.
pretty sure u just lawl'd

Jeez rage anymore guys, he is a new member? They don't know any better.
Maybe a notice should come up with every new member saying use Search button haha

i think a 2 hour period before newbies can post is a good idea.... gives them time to look around

But what makes them think that things like these have never been discussed before?
Do the same people think that the world disappears when they go to sleep?
At least it wasn't another "I'm going to cut my springs because my mate said it's safe" thread.
Yeah... the 2 hours thing would be a good idea... sort of like the lock on the trading post thread.
Could potentially weed out alot of the idiots that come on here just to cause trouble... can't see them heving the attention span to wait for 2 hours... :P
Anyway...
POD filter = FAIL
im more sick of the dimwit threads asking the most stupid questions that they can answer themselves with a bit of common sense
