weekend getaway
hey there i have been looking for a place to take my partner away for her 21st in april and i have found a few places but i just wanted to know if anyone knew of any good places like a resort or a nice selfcontained appartment sort of thing that is about a 3hr max drive from ACT but not down at batemans bay coz we r from there...... cheers....

Honestly with 3 hour radius of Canberra there is a monopoly of serviced/furnished apartments. Check out wotif to give you an idea where and what you want. If you don't have a credit card some places will allow you to pay a holding deposit via cheque (with enough time to clear before arrival) and generally take a cash deposit when you arrive.
Biggest tourism centres (The entrance, hunter valley, blue mountains etc) are more likely to have this type of accommodation so try there first.

What are you planning for the weekend? Depending on what you want to do can help in the way of places to stay. Do you want it near pub/clubs/beaches?
I know what you said about the bay but somewhere like Murramarang is a good getaway EcoPoint Murramarang Resort I went out there on the Australia day weekend and it was really nice and felt further away than it was, I'm only from Mossy Point! lol
Sometimes its not that bad playing 'tourist' from where you are from.
