My poofta mate wants me to make a thread asking you your opinions of who will win in the 1/4, his 94 ED XR6 (it is modded but nothing major;extractors, sports exhaust) against my stocked out 05 sv6 commodore. Keep in mind his car is an M5 against my A5,
My thoughts are that itll be close and i cant pick a clear winner without a race,
Your opinions?
Hmm ild be tempted to go for the xr but there are to many variables as in can he change gears, howmany kays is on each car, how often each car is serviced....ect
The SV6 should be capable of 7sec flat 0-100 on an average day, if not a little better. Take out the spare, the jack, and your tools - and you should win. My VP V6 used to run a 7sec 0-100, and I never saw an EB, EL, or AU XR6 (or XR8 for that matter, but we all know they're even slower) keep up - whether manual or auto.

He might get you if he's a master cog swapper if not you should win, wont be more than a car in it either way I wouldn't think. My mums 100% stock AU auto makes 7.6 to 60 mph and I'd expect a ED manual to be faster than that

hrm so it appears it may just come down to driver skill, only problem i face it getting the most out of each gear, the delay on the paddle shifters makes it a pain, see how it goes i spose
manual falcons, particulary el/ef xr6's are weapons, ea-ed are pretty doggy but

OP: Even if he beats you, you still have a nicer more modern car
why dont you just compare your 0-100 times with his? both of you have posted up 0-100 videos on youtube?
My car audio:
CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms
Remeber to use your power button. Its like NOS.
being ED id say you should have him, ef/el XR6 M5 maybe a different story. they are very quick for what they are.

At least someone did
Sorry to see dvsv8svsvsvs8 above didn't get it.
Assuming you don't have funds for a sense of humor either? ease up... lmao
Btw i think it would be close, the Ford I6 is a pretty good engine and has a fair amount of torque aswell...... But i think it will be damn close...
LOL @ morton, i dont think alot of cars would have got close to your vp... damn quick for an unopened v6 (well a 6 in general)![]()
I have 3 scanned pictures of an article where the EB series 2 XR6 manual. (basically the same car as ED performence wise) was test vs what was called VP commodore SS V6 manual. the EB II cut 0-100 in 7.2 seconds and 0-400 in
15.2 seconds with a full tank of low octane fuel so 91 ron and 2 persons onboard. no removal of the spare
wheel or jack or any laime attempts at quick performence used. (for general knowledge the S was
16.5 0-100 and 16.2 0-400m.
Add extracters to an ED XR6 and they are quite capable of 14 second passes. atm on youtube I have posted
an auto ED XR6 0-100 with extractors and its doing it in relatively flat 7s. (YouTube - ED XR6 Auto extractors 0-100
Bare inmind youtube's counter atm is playing up in my video and goes 1 2 3 4 5 6 8. so not sure what the go is there.
Now autos (slower then manual in this model considerably. Just some food for thought.
Cheers
