Question Nokia E51 or Nokia 6120?

im after a new phone as my current one has said goodbye. I have been looking at a few phones and need it to work on the Next G network. So far I have worked out that the Nokia E51 and the Nokia 6120 will both do that. Now my question to you is which phone do you think is the better phone either from experience or just opinion? The reason I have selected these two phones is money is pretty tight atm but I need to get a new phone in the next few days for my business.

    Thanks

i don't know much about nokia phones but i was looking for a new phone recently and several phone shops steered me away from the 6120 saying they weren't that reliable.
i know nothing about the e51.

i ended up getting a samsung f480 and have been happy with that and they work on the next g network.

I have a 6120, have had it for over 2 years and has been a good reliable phone. I'm out in the sticks a bit with work and the signal is pretty strong in most areas. I find it doesn't often drop a call which is good. We've just started using the E51's too and so far they seem ok.

both get my recomendation. The E51 has more features than the 6120 as the E5 is marketed at the 'business' customer, where the 6120 is made for consumers.

Although both phones arent bluetick, they might as well be, good for coverge, they dont have the extra areials so thats why they failed bluetick

hey norti, if i remember you work at a phone store?

i need a new phone, and have come across and found that the LG Renoir ticks the boxes im after, have you got any feedback for this phone?

also do you know how far the LG Arena is from being released, thats even better, i dont mind waiting a couple of months for it to be released, the pdf viewer really interests me, Which i dont think the Renoir has?

I dont work in a store, but I do work for the big T.

I im support so I dont get much customer feedback, but the E51 & 6120 were big when I was customer facing & lots of the staff have them & I hear nearly all good things about them.

The only negitive I hear is (which I have with my N95 as well, its a NOKIA thing) that they get warm/hot when on a long call.

The LG's arent sold by T, so I havent got any help there Im sorry.

I have so far had 2 6120's and say they are a decent phone. The only problem I have had were the speakers get loose from being dropped and vibrate like hell when someone talks to you. 1st one got repaired and started again but the 2nd one got dropped not long after vibrating and fixed itself.

We also use the E51 at work and the only issue I have encountered is the early ones don't have memory cards and eventually crash. A soft reset fixes the problem.

Don't bother with an E51, get an E71. Awesome phone, reliable, strong, looks good, small, easy to use and I have not found one thing that it can't do that i wish it could.

Dont buy the E51. they are old and have many bugs. if you like the E51 get the E71. Its the phone i use for work and it does everything without any problems. It is very strong. I have not damaged it yet. It has been thrown at a wall. dropped of a 2 story building. stood on the list goes on.

the only thing i will say it is a nokia and occasionaly it will lock up. but every noia i ever had did this so i dont see it as a problem

E51 has bugs? you just need a better pest controller. had mine just over 6 months and aside from the heat NORTI mentioned i can't fault it (light sensor gets annoying in dim light, but that's nothing really)
if anything it has TOO MANY features for me.

and the chrome back/edges are just plain cool

    N series are not cheap.

numbered series are the cheapest, followed by the E series, & the N series are the 'premium' handsets & so therefore more expensive.

the E71 is a little out of my price range at the moment and i dont like the qwerty keypads. I really like the look of the E51 and it seems to have more than i will need. Altho i do like the idea of the wifi it has in it. It will be great to sit in bed and use my home internet connection. Thanks guys

Knew someone who had a Nokia 6120 good phone. Bit more modern maybe over the E51 ?.
6220 is also another good choice for a easy reliable phone.

I have the E51 and I think it's great. Has all the features I need and the boss pays for it so even better.

If the E71 is out of your price range, check out the E63. It's essentially the same phone, just has less features and is generally a bit worse. The keypad is extremely easy to use, it might be tiny but with my slightly larger than normal thumbs i have no problems.

I can't back these phones enough, the browser is also great. I sound like a ****ing Nokia rep, don't I.
